The following subsections d escribe notational conventions us ed i n this document.
Notes, Cautions, and Warnings
Throughout this guide, blocks of text may be ac c ompanied by an icon and printed in bold type or in italic type.
These blocks are notes, cautions, and warnings, and they are us ed as follows:
NOTE: A NOTE indicates important information that helps you make better use of your computer system .
CAUTION: A CAUTION indicates either potential damage to hardware or loss of data and tells you how to avoid the
problem.
WARNING: A WARNING indic ates the potential for bodily harm and tells you how to avoid the problem. Some
warnings may appear in alternate formats and may be u naccompanied by an icon. In such cases, the specific
presentation of t he warning is mandated by regulatory authority.

Power
The monitor should be operated only from the type of power sourc e indicated on th e l abel. If you are not sure
of the type of power supplied to your home, consu lt your dealer or l oc al power company.
The monitor is equipped with a three-pronged grounded plug, a plug with a third (gro unding) pin. This plug
will fit only into a grounded power outlet as a s afety feature. If your outlet does not accommodate the t hree-wire
plug, have an electrician install the correct outlet, or use an adapter to ground the appl iance safely. Do not defeat
the safety purpose of the grou nded plug.
Unplug the unit during a lightning storm or wh en it will not be used for long periods of time. This will protec t
the monitor from damage due to power surges.
Do not overload power strips and extension cords. Overloading can result in fire or elec tric shock.
To ensur e satisfactory operation, use t he monitor onl y with UL listed computers which have appropriate
configured r eceptacles marked between 100 - 240V ~, Min. 5A
The wall socket shall be installed near the equipment and shall be easily accessible.

Installation
Do not place the monitor on an unstable cart, stand, tripod, bracket, or table. If the monitor falls, it can injure a
person and cause serious damage to this product. Use only a cart, stand, tripod, bracket, or table recommended by
the manufacturer or sold with this product. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions when installing t he product and
use mounting ac cessories recommended by the ma nufacturer. A product and cart combination should be moved
with care.
Never push any object into th e slot on the monitor cabinet. It could damage circuit parts causing a fire or
electric shoc k. Never spill liquids on the monitor.
Do not place th e front of the product on the floor.
If you mount the monitor on a wall or shelf, use a mounting kit approved by the manufacturer and follow the kit
instructions.
Leave some space around the monitor as shown belo w. Other wise, air-circulation may be inadequate hence
overheating m ay cause a fire or damage to the monitor.
See below the r ec ommended ventilation areas ar ound the monitor when the monitor is installed on the wall or on
the stand:

Cleaning
Clean the cabinet regularly with cloth. You can use soft-deter gent to wipe out t he stain, instead of
strong-detergent which will cauterize the product cabinet.
When cleaning, make sure no detergent is leaked into the product. The cleaning cloth should not be too rough
as it will scrat ch the screen surface.
Please disco nnect the power c or d before cleani ng the product.

Other
If the product is emitting a strange smell, sound or sm oke, disconnect the power plug IMMEDIATELY and
contact a Service Cent er.
Make sure that the ventilating openings are not bl oc ked by a table or curtain.
Do not engage the LCD monitor in severe vibration or high impact conditions during o peration.
Do not knock o r drop the monit or during operati on or transportation.
For display with glossy bezel the user shoul d consider the placement of the display as the bezel may cause
disturbing ref lections fr om surrounding light and bright sur faces.

Adjusting Viewing Angle
For optimal vie wing it is recomm ended to look at the full face of the monitor, then adjust the monitor's angle to your
own preference.
Hold the stand so you will not topple the monitor when you change the monitor's angle.
You are able to adjus t the monitor's angle from 0° to 20 °.
NOTE: Do not adjust the viewing angle over 20 degrees in order to avoid damage.
NOTE:
Do not touch the LCD s creen when you change the angle. It may cause damage or break the LCD scr een.
Do not put your hand close to the gap between the monitor and the base to avoid the injury when adjusting the
viewing angle.

Cable Connections In Back of Monitor and Comput er:

To protect equipment, always turn off the PC and LC D monitor before connecting.
1 Connect the po wer cable to the AC port on the bac k of the monitor.
2 Connect one end of the 15-pin D-Sub ca bl e to the back of the m onitor and connect the other en d to the
computer's D-S ub por t.
3 Optional –(Requires a video card with DVI por t) - Connect one end of the DVI cable to the back of the monitor
and connect the other end to the com puter’s DVI port.
4 Optional –(Requires a video card with HDMI por t) - Connect one end of the HDMI c abl e to the back of the
monitor and connect the other end to the comput er’s HDMI por t.
5 Turn on your monitor and computer.
If your monitor di s plays an image, ins tallation is complete. If it does not display an image, please refer
Troubleshooting.

Wall Mounting
Preparing to Install An Optional Wall Mounting Arm.
This monitor c an be attached to a wall mounting arm you purc hase separately. Disconnect power before this
procedure. Follow these steps:
1 Remove the bas e.
2 Follow the manufacturer's ins tructions to as semble the wall mounting arm.
3 Place the wall mounting arm ont o the back of the monitor. Line up the holes of t he arm with the holes in the
back of the monitor.
4 Insert the 4 screws into the hol es and tighten.
5 Reconnect the cables. Refer to the user's m anual that came with the optional wall mounting arm for
instructio ns on attaching it to the wall.
Noted : VESA mounting screw holes are not available for all models, please check with th e dealer or official
department of AOC.

key function (Only for the models with dual or more inputs).

Clear Vision
1. When there is no OSD, Press the “<” button to activate Clear Vision.
2. Use the “<” or “>” buttons to select between weak, medium , strong, or off setti ngs . Default setting i s always
“off”.
3. Press and hold “<” button f or 5 seconds to activate the Clear Vision Demo, and a message of “Clear Vision
Demo: on” will be display on the screen for a duration of 5 seconds. Press Menu or Exit button, the message
will disappe ar. Press and hold “<” button for 5 seconds again, Clear Vision Demo will be off.
Clear Vision function provides the best image viewing experienc e by converting low resolution and blurry images
into clear and vivid images.

OSD Setting
Basic and sim ple instruction on the control keys.
1) Press the -button to activate the OSD window.
2) Press < or > to navigate through the functions. Once the desired funct ion is highlighted, press t he -button
to activate it . press < or > to navigate through the sub-menu functions. Once the desired function is highlighted,
press -button to activate it.
3) Press < or > to change the settings of the selected f unc tion. Press to exit. If you want to adjus t any other
function, rep eat steps 2-3.
4) OSD Lock Function: To lock t he OSD, press and hold the button while the moni tor is off and then press
button to turn the monitor on. To un-lock the OSD - press and ho ld the button while the monitor is off
and then press button to turn the monitor on.
Notes:
1) If the product has only one si gnal input, the item of "Input Sel ec t" is disable to adjust.
2) If the product screen size is 4: 3 or input signal res olution is wide for mat, the item of "Image Ratio" is disable to
adjust.
3) One of Clear vision, DCR, Color Boost, and Picture Boost funct i ons is activated; the other three functions are
turned off accordin gly.

13. Close all open windows and remove the CD.
14. Restart the system. T he system will automatically select the maximum refresh rate and cor responding Color
Matching Profiles.

1. Click "Start " and "Control Panel". Then, doubl e-c l ick on "Appear ance and Personali zation".

4. Click "Properties" in the "Monitor" tab. If the "Properties" button is deactivated, it means the configuration for your
monitor is com pl eted. The monitor can be used as is.
If the message "Windows needs ..." is display ed, as shown in the figure below, click "Continue".

6. Check the "Browse my computer for driver software" checkbox and click "Let me pick from a list of device drivers
on my computer ".

8. Select your monitor model and click on the ' N ext' button.
9. Click "Close" → "Close" → "OK" → "OK" on the followin g screens displayed in sequence.

- If the 'Propert ies' button is inactive, it means your monitor is properly conf i gured. Please stop installation.
- If the 'Propert ies' button is active, click on 'Properties' button.

7. Click on the 'Driver' tab and then click on 'Update Driver...' button.

8. Select the 'Install from a list or specific location [advanced]' radio button and then clic k on the 'Next' button.
9. Select the 'D on't Search. I will c hoose the driver to install' radio button. Then click on the ' Next' button.
10. Click on the 'Have disk...' button, then click on the 'Browse...' button and then select the appropriate drive F:
(CD-ROM Drive).
11. Click on the 'Open' button, then click the 'OK' button.
12. Select your monitor model and click on the 'Next' button.
- If you can see the 'has not passed Windows® Logo testing to verify its compatibility with Windows® XP' message,
please click o n the 'Continue Anyway' but ton.
13. Click on the 'Finish' button then the 'Clo s e' button.
14. Click on the 'OK' button and then the 'OK' but ton again to close the Display Proper ties dialog box.

1. Start Windows® 2000
2. Click on the ' Start' button, point to 'Set tings', and then click on 'Control Panel'.
3. Double clic k on the 'Display' Icon.
4. Select the 'Settings' tab then clic k on 'Advanced...'.
5. Select 'Monitor'
- If t he 'Properties' button is inactive, i t means your moni tor is properly configured. Please stop installation.
- If t he 'Properties' button is active. Click on 'Properties' button. Pl eas e follow the steps given below.
6. Click on 'Driver' and then clic k on 'Update Driver...' then click on the 'Next' butt on.
7. Select 'Display a list of the known drivers for this devic e s o that I can choose a s pec i fic driver', then click on
'Next' and then click on 'Have dis k...'.
8. Click on the 'Browse...' button then select the appropriate drive F: ( CD -ROM Drive).
9. Click on the 'Open' button, then click on the 'OK' button.
10. Select your monitor model and click on the ' N ext' button.
11. Click on the 'Finish' button then the 'Cl os e' button.
If you can see the 'Digital Signature Not Found' window, click on t he 'Yes' button.
Windows ME
1. Start Windows® Me
2. Click on the 'Start' button, point to 'S ettings', and then cli c k on 'Control P anel'.
3. Double clic k on the 'Display' Icon.
4. Select the 'Settings' tab then clic k on 'Advanced...'.
5. Select the 'Monitor' butt on, then click o n 'Change... ' button.
6. Select 'Specify the location of t he driver(Advanced)' and click on the 'Next' button.
7. Select 'Display a list of al l the drivers in a specific location, so you can choose the driver you want', then click
on 'Next' and then click on 'Have Disk...'.
8. Click on the 'Browse...' button, select the appropriate dr i v e F: ( CD-RO M Drive) then click on the 'OK' button.
9. Click on the 'OK' button, s el ect your monitor model and click on the 'Next' button.
10. Click on 'Finish' button then the 'Close' button.

Welcome to “i-Menu” software b y AOC. i-Menu m ak es it easy to adjust your monitor display setting by using on
screen menus instead of the OSD button on the monit or. To com plete installation, pl ease follow the installation
guide.

e-Saver
Welcome to us e AOC e-Saver monit or power management software! The AOC e-Saver feat ures Smart Shut down
functions for your monitors, allows your monitor to timely shutdown when PC unit is at any status (On, Off, Sleep or
Screen Saver) ; the actual shutdown time depends on your preferences (see example below).
Please click on "driver/e-Saver/setup.exe" to start ins talling the e-Saver software, follow the install wizard to
complete software installation.
Under each of the four PC status, you may choose fr om the pull-down menu the desired time (in minutes) for your
monitor to aut omatically s hutdown. The example above illustrated:
1) The monitor will never shutdown when the PC is powered on.
2) The monitor will automatic al ly shutdown 5 minutes after the PC is powered off.
3) The monitor will automatic al ly shutdown 1 0 m i nutes after the P C is in sleep/stand-by mode.
4) The monitor will automatic al ly shutdown 2 0 m i nutes after the s creen saver appears .
You can click “RESET” to set the e-Saver to its default settings like below.

Screen+
Welcome to "Screen+" software by AOC, Screen+ software is a desktop screen sp li tting tool, it s pl its the desktop
into different panes, each pane dis pl ays a different window. You only need to dr ag the window to a corresponding
pane, when you want to access it. It supports multiple monit or display to make your task easier. Please follow the
installation software to i ns tall it.

If the power is on, rebo ot the computer to see the initial screen (the logi n
screen), which can be seen.
If the initial screen (the login screen) appears, boot the c omputer in the
applicable mode (the safe mode for Windows ME/XP/2000) and then change
the frequency of the video card.
(Refer to the Setting the Optim al Resolution)
If the initial screen (the login screen) does not appear, contact the Service
Center or your dealer.
Can you see "Input Not Supported" on the screen?
You can see this mes sage when the sig nal from the vide o c ard exceeds the
maximum resolution and freq uency that the monitor can handle properly.
Adjust the maximum resolution and frequency that the monitor can handle
properly.
Make sure the AOC Monitor Drivers are ins tall ed.
