Notice for use

To set up your monitor, please see the illustrations below.

Note: Do not touch the monitor within the screen area. The screen area is glass and can be

damaged by rough handling or excessive pressure.

1. Place your monitor with the screen face down on a soft at surface.

2. Align the stand assembly bracket to the monitor.

3. Insert the base towards the stand until it locks in place.

Note: To install a VESA mount, please see "Wall Mounting (Optional)" on page 2-12.

Setting up your monitor

This section provides information on how to set up your monitor.

Connecting and turning on your monitor

Note: Be sure to read the Safety information on page iv before carrying out this

procedure.

1. Power off your computer and all attached devices, and unplug the computer power cord.

2. Connect the cables according to below icon indication.

7. Connect one end of the USB cable to the USB downstream terminal of the monitor, and

connect the other end of the USB cable to an appropriate USB port on your device.

Note: The USB downstream port does not provide power while the monitor switch is

off.

8. Connect the speaker’s audio cable and audio jack of monitor to transfer audio source

from Display Port, HDMI, Type-C or USB.

Note: The audio output in Display Port, HDMI or Type-C modes.

9. Insert the power cord into the monitor, then plug the monitor power cord and the

computer cord into grounded electrical outlets.

Note: A certied power supply cord has to be used with this equipment. The relevant

national installation and or equipment regulations shall be considered. A certied power

supply cord not lighter than ordinary polyvinyl chloride exible cord according to

IEC 60227 (designation H05VV-F 3G 0.75mm2 or H05VVH2-F2 3G 0.75mm2 ) shall

be used. Alternative a exible cord be of synthetic rubber according to IEC 60245

(designation H05RR-F 3G 0.75mm2 ) shall be used.

11. Power on the monitor and the computer.

12. When you install the monitor driver, download the driver that corresponds to your

monitor model from the Lenovo website https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/solutions/

T24t_20. Refer to the “Manually installing the monitor driver” on page 3-5 section to

install the driver.

13. User is able to manage the on-screen congurations including applications, menu items

and so on with the touch screen. For information on how to utilize touch screen, please

see: "Touch Screen" on page 2-6.

Chapter 2.Adjusting and using your monitor

This section will give you information on adjusting and using your monitor.

Comfort and accessibility

Good ergonomic practice is important to get the most from your personal computer and

to avoid discomfort. Arrange your workplace and the equipment you use to suit your

individual needs and the kind of work that you perform. In addition, use healthy work

habits to maximize your performance and comfort while using your computer.

Arranging your work area

Use a work surface of appropriate height and available working area to allow you to work

in comfort.

Organize you work area to match the way you use materials and equipment. Keep your

work area clean and clear for the materials that you typically use and place the items that

you use most frequently, such as the computer mouse or telephone, within the easiest reach.

Equipment layout and setup play a large role in your working posture. The following topics

describe how to optimize equipment setup to achieve and maintain good working posture.

Positioning and viewing your monitor

Position and adjust your computer monitor for comfortable viewing by considering the

following items:

• Viewing distance: Recommended viewing distance between the eye and the monitor

screen is 1.5 x the diagonal of the screen. Solutions in meeting this required distance in

cramped ofce situations include pulling desk away from wall or divider to make room

for monitor, using at panel or compact displays placing the monitor in the desk corner,

or placing the keyboard in an adjustable drawer to create a deeper working surface.

• Monitor height: Position the monitor so your head and neck are in a comfortable and

neutral (vertical, or upright) position. If your monitor does not have height adjustments,

you might have to place books or other sturdy objects under the base of the monitor to

achieve the desired height. A general guideline is to position the monitor such that the top

of the screen is at or slightly below your eye-height when you are comfortably seated.

However, be sure to optimize your monitor height so the line of site between your eyes

and the center the monitor suits your preferences for visual distance and comfortable

viewing when your eye muscles are in a relaxed state.

• Tilt: Adjust the tilt of your monitor to optimize the appearance of the screen content and

to accommodate your preferred head and neck posture.

• General location: Position your monitor to avoid glare or reections on the screen from

overhead lighting or nearby windows.

The following are some other tips for comfortable viewing of your monitor:

• Use adequate lighting for the type of work you are performing.

• Use the monitor brightness, contrast, and image adjustment controls, if equipped, to

optimize the image on your screen to meet your visual preferences.

• Keep your monitor screen clean so you can focus on the screen’s contents.

Any concentrated and sustained visual activity can be tiring for your eyes. Be sure to

periodically look away from your monitor screen and focus on a far object to allow your

eye muscles to relax. If you have questions on eye fatigue or visual discomfort, consult a

vision care specialist for advice.

Quick tips for healthy work habits

The following information is a summary of some important factors to consider to help you

remain comfortable and productive while you use your computer.

• Good posture starts with equipment setup: The layout of your work area and the setup of

your computer equipment have a large effect on your posture while using your computer.

Be sure to optimize the position and orientation of your equipment by following the tips

outlined in “Arranging your work area ” on page 2-2 so you can maintain a comfortable

and productive posture. Also, be sure to use the adjustment capabilities of your computer

components and ofce furniture to best suit your preferences now and as your preferences

change over time.

• Minor changes in posture can help avoid discomfort: The longer you sit and work in

front of your computer, the more important it is to observe your working posture. Avoid

as summing any one posture for an extended period of time. Periodically make minor

modications in your posture to help deter any discomforts that might arise. Make use of

any adjustments that your ofce furniture or equipment provide to accommodate changes

in posture

• Short, periodic breaks help ensure healthy computing: Because computing is

primarily a static activity, it is particularly important to take short breaks from your work.

Periodically, stand up in front of your work area, stretch, walk for a drink of water, or

otherwise take a short break from using your computer. A short break from work gives

your body a welcome change in posture and helps to ensure you remain comfortable and

productive while you do work.

Adjusting your monitor image

This section describes the user control features used to adjust your monitor image.

Using the direct access controls

The direct access controls can be used when the On Screen Display (OSD) is not displayed.

DDC-CI Press and hold for 10 seconds to enable or disable the

DDC-CI function.

To use the controls:

1. Press to open the main OSD menu.

2. Use or to move among the icons. Select an icon and press to access that

function. If there is a sub-menu, you can move between options using or , then

press to select that function. Use or to make adjustments then press to save.

3. Press to move backwards through the sub-menus and exit from the OSD.

4. Press and hold for 10 seconds to lock the OSD. This will prevent accidental

adjustments to the OSD. Press and hold for 10 seconds to unlock the OSD and allow

adjustments to the OSD.

5. Enables DDC/CI by default. Use OSD Exit Key, press and hold for 10 seconds to

disable / enable DDC/CI function. A message "DDC/CI disable" is shown on the screen.

6. The ENERGY STAR option resets all user settings to default values so that the monitor

can meet the requirements of Energy Star.

Energy Star is an energy saving program for consumer electronics led by the U.S.

government. It was launched in 1992 by EPA and DOE to reduce energy consumption

and greenhouse gas emissions. Energy Star logo is a symbol of energy conservation and

environmental protection. It improves the concept of energy efciency of consumers

and manufacturers, and effectively guides the market.

The regulation of Energy Star improves energy efciency and reduces air pollution

by using more energy-efcient equipment in homes, ofces and factories. One way to

achieve this goal is to use management to reduce energy consumption when products are

not in use. The default settings for monitors conform to Energy Star certication. Any

changes by users for more features and functionalities may increase power consumption,

which will exceed the limitation of Energy Star’s standard. If the user changes the

options related to energy efciency when using, such as brightness, color mode, etc.,

select All Reset Factory or choose the Energy Star option, the power consumption will

be restored to the energy efciency with Energy Star standard.

*The use of Extreme Mode (response time) may result in reduced display quality when fast moving video

graphics are displayed. Users should check Extreme Mode (response time) to verify if it is compatible

with any applications they would like to use it with.

Touch Screen

Touch screen will optimize your monitor experience. T24t-20 touch function is available

with computers or smart phones with Windows, Android, Chrome OS which support

HID multi-touch. Please conrm with your computers/phones manufacturer to be sure its

function availability.

• You can use either single nger touch, or multi-nger touch up to maximum simultaneous

10 touch points.

• To activate touch functionality, you need to connect the display with the provided USB

cable to your computer.

• You do not need to install any other software.

Procedures Descriptions

Left edge swipe Swipe from the left edge of the screen to shufe your running

apps.

Right edge swipe Swipe from the right edge of the screen to launch the Charm bar.

Finger slide Slide your nger to scroll up and down and slide your nger to pan the

screen left or right.

Single Tap/Double Tap Touch the target on the screen with one finger tip for one/two

quick taps, then release.

Note:

• Do not touch the screen with sharp objects, it may result in damage, and void warranty.

• Do not push hard, or rest anything on the glass surface (if in horizontal position) as it will

damage the screen and void warranty.

• Please keep your hands clean and dry before touching the screen to ensure uid touch

operation.

• The touch function works only on OS and applications which can support touch function.

• Suggest preferably use microfiber cloth and gently wipe down the touch screen.

T24t-20 supports nger touch. If you use a touch pen, it may have no function or cause

functional errors on monitor.

Using the Wake on touch Function

You can wake up your monitor from sleep mode through touch. To use the function:

It can't support wake on touch when notebook enter the Modern Standby

Touch setting when multi monitors connecting

Please follow below steps to set T24t-20 as the touch monitor when connecting multiple

monitors with notebooks.

Step 1: Search “Control Panel”

Step 2: Find “Tablet PC Settings”

Step 3: Click “SetUp”

Step 4: Press Enter until the message moves to T24t-20. Tap the screen to identify it to

complete the setting.

Follow the steps above and the T24t-20 will display the message shown below:

Tap this screen with a single nger or touch pen to identify it as the touch monitor. If this

is not the Tablet PC screen, press Enter to move to the next screen. To close the tool, press

Esc.

Selecting a supported display mode

The display mode the monitor uses is controlled by the computer. Therefore, refer to your

computer documentation for details on how to change display modes.

The image size, position and shape might change when the display mode changes.This is

normal and the image can be re-adjusted using automatic image setup and the image

controls.

Unlike CRT monitors, which require a high refresh rate to minimize icker, LCD or Flat

Panel technology is inherently icker-free.

Note: If your system has previously been used with a CRT monitor and is currently

congured to a display mode outside the range of this monitor, you may need to reattach

the CRT monitor temporarily until you have re-congured the system; preferably to 1920 x

1080 at 60Hz, which is a common display mode.

Understanding power management

Power management is invoked when the computer recognizes that you have not using your

mouse or keyboard for a user-denable period. There are several states as described in the

table below.

For optimal performance, switch off your monitor at the end of each working day, or

whenever you expect to leave it unused for long periods during the day.

Power Button Control

The T24t-20 monitor allows its power key to control some Lenovo systems connected by

USB Type C, this function is named as Power Button Control in OSD, the Power Button

Control has Control Back (VDM) on and off options. This technology uses the Lenovo

Vendor Dened Message (VDM) feature through the USB Type C interface.

If the Control Back (VDM) function is disabled in the OSD the power button will only

control the monitor.

The power LED indicates the status as below:

White The monitor is on.

Amber The monitor is not receiving a signal.

Off The monitor is off.

If the Control Back (VDM) is enabled in the OSD the power button will control not only the

monitor but also the external system if it is supported. The different scenarios are detailed

below:

• When the monitor is connected to AC power and connected by USB Type C to a system

that does not support the VDM function the power button will control only the monitor.

The power LED indicates the status as below:

White The monitor is on.

Amber The monitor is not receiving a signal.

Off The monitor is off.

The monitor will still supply power to the connected system.

• When the monitor is connected to AC power and a system that supports the VDM function

by USB Type C, the monitor power button functions as both the monitor and the system’s

power button.

The power LED indicates the system status:

White The system is on.

White Blinking The system is in sleep mode.

White Breathing The system is in modern standby mode

Off

The system if off or in hibernation mode and monitor is not DC

off.

Or The Monitor DC power is off.

The monitor will still supply power to the connected system

when DC off.

Please select the Control Back (VDM) option in OSD based on your requirement.

This monitor Power Button Control function is compatible with some Lenovo devices, the

compatibility list please refer to the link:

If monitor power button can’t work normally with the systems that supports the VDM

function, please update monitor’s rmware with Lenovo Display Control Center

ThinkColour and ensure the system’s BIOS/Drivers are up to date.

Caring for your monitor

Be sure to turn off the power before you perform any maintenance on the monitor.

Do not:

• Apply water or liquid directly to your monitor.

• Use solvents or abrasives.

• Use ammable cleaning materials to clean your monitor or any other electrical equipment.

• Touch the screen area of your monitor with sharp or abrasive items. This type of contact

may cause permanent damage to your screen.

• Use any cleaner which contains an anti-static solution or similar additives. This may harm

the coating of the screen area.

Do:

• Lightly dampen a soft cloth with water and use this to gently wipe the covers and the

screen.

• Remove grease or nger marks with a damp cloth and a little mild detergent.

Detaching the monitor base and stand

Step 1: Place the monitor on a soft and at surface.

Step 2: Remove the screws from stand before detaching stand from the monitor.

Wall Mounting (Optional)

Refer to the instructions that come with the base mounting kit. To convert your LCD display

from a desk-mounted to a wall-mounted display, do the following:

Step 1: Verify that the Power button is turned Off, then disconnect the power cord.=

Step 2: Lay the LCD display face down on a towel or blanket.

Step 3: Remove the base and stand from the monitor, refer to "Detaching the monitor base

and stand" on page 2-12.

Step 4: Attach the mounting bracket from the VESA compatible wall mounting kit.

(100mm x100mm distance), the type of VESA mounting screw is M4 x 10 mm.

Below are steps for manually installing the monitor driver in Microsoft Windows 7,

Microsoft Windows 10.

Installing the monitor driver in Windows 7

To use the Plug and Play feature in Microsoft Windows 7, do the following:

1. Turn off the computer, all attached devices.

2. Ensure that the monitor is connected correctly.

3. Turn on the monitor and then the system unit. Allow your computer to start the Windows

7 operating system.

4. From the Lenovo website https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/solutions/t24t_20, nd

the corresponding monitor driver and download it to a PC to which this monitor is

connected (such as a desktop).

5. Open the Display Properties window by clicking Start, Control Panel, Hardware

and Sound icon, and then click the Display icon.

6. Click the Change the display settings tab.

7. Click the Advanced Settings icon.

8. Click the Monitor tab.

9. Click the Properties button.

10. Click the Driver tab.

11. Click Update Driver, then click Browse the computer to nd the driver program.

12. Select Pick from the list of device driver program on the computer.

13. Click the Hard Disk button. By clicking the Browse button, browse and point to the

following path:

X:\Monitor Drivers\Windows 7

(where X indicates “the folder in which the downloaded driver is located”(such as a

desktop)).

14. Select the “lenT24t-20.inf” le and click the Open button. Click the OK button.

15. In the new window, select LEN T24t-20 and click Next.

16. After the installation is complete, delete all downloaded les and close all windows.

17. Restart the system. The system will automatically select the maximum refresh rate and

corresponding Color Matching Proles.

Note: On LCD monitors, unlike CRTs, a faster refresh rate does not improve display

quality. Lenovo recommends using either 1920 x 1080 at a refresh rate of 60 Hz, or 640 x

480 at a refresh rate of 60 Hz.

The warranty does not apply to a product which has been damaged due to accident,

misuse, abuse, improper installation, usage not in accordance with product specications

and instructions, natural or personal disaster, or unauthorized alterations, repairs or

• Images burned onto the screen of a CRT monitor. Burned image is preventable by

utilizing a moving screen saver or power management.
