product, it means the product is covered by the European Directive
2002/96/EC:
Never dispose of your product with other household waste. Please
inform yourself about the local rules on the separate collection of
electrical and electronic products. The correct disposal of your old
product helps prevent potentially negative consequences on the
environment and human health.

2006/66/EC, which cannot be disposed of with normal household

•Batteries contain chemical substances, so they should be disposed
of properly.
1 Open the battery compartment.
2 Insert 3 AA batteries (not supplied) with correct polarity (+/-)
as indicated.
3 Close the battery compartment.

Set time
1 Press to turn off the radio.
2 Press and hold TIMER/BAND.
»The hour digits begin to blink.
3 Press +/- to set the hour.
4 Press TIMER/BANDtoconrm.
»The minute digits begin to blink.
5 Press +/- to set the minute.
6 PressTIMER/BANDtoconrm.
Turn on
1 Press to turn on the radio.
4 Listen to radio
Select FM/MW band
1 Press to turn on the radio.
2 Press and hold TIMER/BAND to switch between FM/MW band.
Tune to a radio station
1 Press to turn on the radio.
2 Press TUNE/PRESET to start tuning.
»[FM] or [MW] begins to blink.
3 Rotate clockwise or counter-clockwise to tune to a radio
station.
4 Press TUNE/PRESETagaintoconrm.
Program radio stations automatically
Note
•You can program a maximum of 20 preset FM radio stations and
20 preset MW radio stations.
1 Press to turn on the radio.
2 Press and hold for 2 seconds.
»All available stations are programmed in the order of waveband
reception strength.
»Therstprogramedradiostationbroadcastsautomatically.
Program radio stations manually
Note
•You can program a maximum of 20 preset FM radio stations and
20 MW radio stations.
1 Press to turn on the radio.
2 Tune to a radio station.
3 Press and hold TUNE/PRESET.
»The number begins to blink.
4 Rotate clockwise or counter-clockwise to select a preset
number.
5 Press TUNE/PRESETtoconrm.
6 Repeat steps 2 - 5 to program more stations.
Tip
•To overwrite a programmed station, program another station in its
place.
Select a preset radio station
1 Press to turn on the radio.
2 Press +/- to select a preset radio station.
Set the sleep timer
You can set the clock radio to turn off automatically after a certain
period of time.
1 Press TIMER/BAND repeatedly to select time (in minutes).
»The apparatus turns off automatically after the set period of
time.
To turn off the sleep timer:
1 Press TIMER/BAND repeatedly until [OFF] (off ) appears or
press .
» is displayed when sleep timer is on and disappears when
it is off.

6 Troubleshooting
Warning
•Never remove the casing of this apparatus.
To keep the warranty valid, never try to repair the system yourself.
If you encounter problems when using this apparatus, check the
following points before requesting service. If the problem remains
unsolved, go to the Philips web site (www.philips.com/welcome). When
you contact Philips, ensure that the apparatus is nearby and the model
number and serial number are available.
No power
•Ensure that the battery is installed properly.
•Replace the exhausted battery.
Timer does not work
•Set the clock correctly.
•Switch on the timer.
No sound
•Adjust the volume.
Clock/timer setting erased
•Replace the exhausted battery.
•Reset the clock/timer.
No response from the unit
•Take out the batteries and turn on the unit again.
