To avoid monitor from falling
Take measures to prevent the monitor from falling over in case of an earthquake or other disaster might occur to lessen the probability of injury and
damage.
As shown in the figure below, secure the monitor to a solid wall or pillar using rope (commercially available) strong enough to bear the weight of the
monitor(BDL4635E: approx. 34.6 kg). Screw hooks (commercially available), of ring type rather than C-shaped screw hooks (with opening), are
recommended.
Caution:
Though the recommended prevention from falling is intended to lessen the probability of injury and damage, it doesn’t assure its effectiveness
against any kind of earthquake or disaster.
Before moving the monitor, remove the rope that is securing the monitor.
Method II: Mount the monitor on the wall
Before mounting the monitor to the wall, make sure that the system has been power-off and you have obtain a standard wall-mounting kit
(commercially available). Using mounting interface that comply with TÜV-GS and/or UL1678 standard in North America is recommended.
Table t op stand
1. Lay a protective sheet on a table, which was wrapped around the monitor when it was packaged, beneath the surface as not to scratch the
screen face.
2. This device cannot be installed without the correct and complete mounting accessories (not provided in the box). Make sure you have all related
parts available for wall mounting.
3. Follow the instructions that come with the base mounting kit. Failure to follow correct mounting procedures could result in damage to the
equipment or injury to the user or installer. Product warranty does not cover damage caused by improper installation.
4. For the wall-mounting kit, use M6 mounting screws (having a length 10 mm longer than the thickness of the mounting bracket) and tighten them
securely. (Recommended torque: 470 - 635N•cm).
Caution:
For preventing the monitor from falling.
Install the monitor with metal brackets for wall or ceiling installation (commercially available) on your own responsibility. For detailed procedures of
installation, refer to the instructions of the metal brackets.
To lessen the probability of injury and damage resulting from fall of the monitor in case of earthquake or other disaster, be sure to consult the
bracket manufacturer for installation location.
To lessen the risk of falling of the monitor, thread commercially available rope (having a load capacity at least 1960N (200kgf)) through the handles
at the right and left of the monitor and secure the rope to the wall mount brackets or ceiling mount brackets.(Refer to the first paragraph of this
page.)

Pixel defect policy BDL4635E
Philips strives to deliver the highest quality products. We use some of the industry's most advanced manufacturing processes and
practice stringent quality control. However, pixel or sub-pixel defects on the PDP / TFT panels used in LCD- displays are
sometimes unavoidable. No manufacturer can guarantee that all panels will be free from pixel defects, but Philips guarantees that
any LCD- displays with an unacceptable number of defects will be repaired during the warranty period in line with your local
guarantee conditions.
This notice explains the different types of pixel defects and defines the acceptable defect level for the BDL4635E LCD screen. In
order to qualify for repair under warranty, the number of pixel defects must exceed a certain level which is given in the
reference table. If the LCD screen is within specification a warranty exchange / claim back will be refused. Additionally, because
some types or combinations of pixel defects are more noticeable than others, Philips sets even higher quality standards for those.
Pixels and Sub-pixels
A pixel, or picture element, is composed of three sub-pixels in the primary colors of red, green and blue. Many pixels together
form an image. When all sub-pixels of a pixel are lit, the three colored sub-pixels together appear as a single white pixel. When
all are dark, the three colored sub-pixels together appear as a single black pixel. Other combinations of lit and dark sub-pixels
appear as single pixels of other colors.
Types of Pixel Defects + Dot definition
Pixel and sub-pixel defects appear on the screen in different ways. There are three categories of pixel defects and several
types of sub-pixel defects within each category.
Dot definition = What is a defective “Dot” ?:
One or more defective, adjacent sub-pixel are defined as one “dot”. The no. of defective sub-pixels are not relevant to
define a defective dot. This means that a defective dot can consist of one, two or three defective sub-pixels which can
be dark or lit.
One dot = One Pixel; consists of three sub-pixels of Red; Green and Blue
Bright Dot Defects
Bright dot defects appear as pixels or sub-pixels that are always lit or "on". These are the examples of bright dot defects:
One lit red, green or blue sub-
pixel
Two adjacent lit sub-pixels:
- Red + Blue = Purple
- Red + Green = Yellow
- Green + Blue = Cyan (Light
Blue)
Three adjacent lit sub-pixels
(one white dot)
User Manual BDL4635E
43
Dark Dot Defects
Black dot defects appear as pixels or sub-pixels that are always dark or "off". These are the examples of black dot defects:
Proximity of Pixel Defects
Because pixel and sub-pixels defects of the same type that are nearby one another may be more noticeable, Philips also specifies
tolerances for the proximity of pixel defects. In the table below you can find specifications about:
Allowed amount of adjacent dark dots = (adjacent dark dots =1 pair of dark dots)
Minimum distance between dark dots
Total no. of all defective dots
Pixel Defect Tolerances
In order to qualify for repair due to pixel defects during the warranty period, a PDP / TFT panel in a Philips LCD- display must
have pixel or sub-pixel defects exceeding the tolerances listed in the following table.

Full HD LCD display 1920x1080p
This display has a resolution that is referred to as Full HD. The state-of-the-art LCD screen technology has the full high-definition widescreen
resolution of 1080 progressive lines, each with 1920 pixels. This allows the best possible picture quality for HD input signals with up to
1080 lines. It produces brilliant flicker-free progressive scan pictures with optimum brightness and superb colors. This vibrant and sharp
image will provide you with an enhanced viewing experience.
Zoom function for tiled matrix
The internal zoom function enables easy implementation of a video wall matrix, without the need for expensive external equipment.
Capable of a vidiwall of 25 displays by dividing up to 5 displays each horizontally and vertically.
Network controllability: RS232
Network controllability allows user to control and adjust monitors remotely through RS232 protocol.
SmartPower
The backlight intensity can be controlled and pre-set by the system to reduce the power consumption by up to 50%, which saves
substantially on energy costs.
Advanced anti image sticking
Static images left on-screen for extended periods of time may leave a "ghost image" or image sticking effect on LCD displays. Although
image sticking in LCD displays is not permanent, you want to prevent this to happen, especially in locations where content is shown 24/7.
Compliant with RoHS standards
Philips designs and produces display products in compliance with strict Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) standards that restrict
lead and other toxic substances that can harm the environment.
