During disassembly and repair, wiring and crimp conections instructions*

2. IEC 60352-2:1990 (amd. 1:1996 + amd. 2:2002) “Solderless crimped connections – General requirements, test

methods and practical guidance”

What does that mean for Service?

Whenever we replace an electrical component, we need to open such connection.

The easiest way is to reopen the pressed crimp housing by attacking from the side with pliers

Required tool when replacing crimp connectors:

Ratchet Crimping Tool

• Oval crimp tool for insulated cable connectors

• 0.5mm2 & 6mm2

Prepare the cable:

“Never solder the wire strands before crimping – soldering is not allowed!”

Twist the wires together along the entire lengths

[13mm (0,51 in) Min & 16mm (0,63 in) Max] of

the scrip.

Insert the cable into Crimp Housing

Don't miss any single “hair“!!!

The result of this can have serious safety

impact, as wires can touch any metal part.

Cause electrical shock!!!!!

Center the crimp tool on the sleeve,

Crimp the housing with 6 kg/cm²

!!!Please do pull test that wires are strongly

fixed!!!

WARNING:

Take care that you tight the crimp fully.

If it is not done properly it can cause inner

sparkling and cause overheating and in worst

case a fire!

• Please aligned the crimp in such a way that

higher humidity can not captured water like

swimming pool.

• The open side should always look down

Tie wraps are used as strain relief for these

connector types as they do not inherently have

that. Essential part.

In case the original cable was equipped with tie

wrap you need to add new one.

Repair Instruction

1. Only skilled personnel should carry out the repair.

2. Verification test to carry out as follows, to determine the problem:

a. Ensure product are properly assembled

b. Power on

c. Water Tank to be filled up to Maximum level

3. Refer to Trouble shooting guide for part repair/replacement.

4. Product with week code before WK2003, when replace part in Pos. 1, Pos. 17 & 19 need to replace together and

vice versa.

5. After repaired, the appliance must function properly, following test to be carried out:

a. POWER-ON CHECK

Powered-ON with socket equipped with Residual Current Circuit Breaker (RCCB) or Earth Leakage Circuit

Breaker (ELCB) to ensure no electrical hazard risk to end consumer.

b. Soleplate temperature

Check the soleplate temperature at maximum setting within IEC requirment.

Measure the temperature of the Soleplate after the iron has reached steady state i.e connected to the mains

for at least 15 minutes. The table below shows the temperature requirement.

c. Water leakage

Check that there is no water leakage from any part of product during operation.

d. Functionality

Check the functionality of the product such as:

- Steaming

- PCBA (Refer to point 6).

- Buttons: no sluggish, no jammed and loosennes

- Filling Door: able to open freely and close properly (with click sound)

e. Loose part

Check that there are no loose parts such as extra screws in the product that can cause short circuit or product

malfunction.

6. Self-Check mode

6.1 Introduction of Self-Check mode

Self-Check mode is NOT an exhaustive diagnosis, but a quick preliminary check on all the hardware function.

Further test and troubleshooting may still be required to identify the root cause.

6.2 Before start Self-Check mode, please do the following checking

a. Make sure Soleplate is cold (< 100 °C)

b. Water Tank with Water above min mark

6.5 Troubleshooting Tips

1. LEDs do not light up as specified, fault should be on PCBA;

2. Zero cross circuit malfunction, fault should be on PCBA;

3. No heat up/Power in 2s relay, fault could be ON PCBA or heater, Fuse;

4. No pumping sound, fault should be on pump, or PCBA;

5. T-dial checking LED do not light up as specified, fault should be on potentiometer PCBA
