nearby.

Cleaning
ࣖExercise care when cleaning as the panel and exterior of advanced LCDs are easily scratched.
ࣖTake the following steps when cleaning.

Power off the product and computer.

Disconnect the power cord from the product.
ࣖHold the power cable by the plug and do not touch the cable with wet hands. Otherwise, an electric
shock may result.

Wipe the monitor with a clean, soft and dry cloth.
ࣕDo not apply a cleaning agent that contains alcohol, solvent, or surfactant to the monitor.
ࣕDo not spray water or detergent directly on the product.

Wet a soft and dry cloth in water and wring thoroughly to clean the exterior of the product.

Connect the power cord to the product when cleaning is ѣnished.

Power on the product and computer.
Electricity and Safety
Warning
࡙Do not use a damaged power cord or plug, or a loose power socket.
࡙Do not use multiple products with a single power socket.
࡙Do not touch the power plug with wet hands.
࡙Insert the power plug all the way in so it is not loose.
࡙Connect the power plug to a grounded power socket (type 1 insulated devices only).
࡙Do not bend or pull the power cord with force. Be careful not to leave the power cord under a heavy
object.
࡙Do not place the power cord or product near heat sources.

Clean any dust around the pins of the power plug or the power socket with a dry cloth.
The socket-outlet shall be installed near the equipment and shall be easily accessible.

࡙Keep the power socket where the power cord is connected unobstructed.

࡙When installing the product on a cabinet or shelf, make sure that the bottom edge of the front of
the product is not protruding.

ࣕProduct failure or personal injury may result.
࡙Installing the product in an unusual place (a place exposed to a lot of fine dust, chemical

the product will operate continuously for an extended period of time) may seriously affect its
performance.
ࣕBe sure to consult Samsung Customer Service Center if you want to install the product at such a
place.

࡙There is a high voltage inside the product. Never disassemble, repair or modify the product
yourself.
ࣕContact Samsung Customer Service Center for repairs.
࡙To move the product, first disconnect all the cables from it, including the power cable.
࡙If the product generates abnormal sounds, a burning smell or smoke, disconnect the power cord
immediately and contact Samsung Customer Service Center.
࡙Do not let children hang from the product or climb on top of it.
ࣕChildren may become injured or seriously harmed.
࡙If the product is dropped or the outer case is damaged, turn off the power and disconnect the
power cord. Then contact Samsung Customer Service Center.
ࣕContinued use can result in a fire or electric shock.
࡙Do not leave heavy objects or items that children like (toys, sweets, etc.) on top of the product.
ࣕThe product or heavy objects may fall as children try to reach for the toys or sweets resulting in a
serious injury.
࡙During a lightning or thunderstorm, power off the product and remove the power cable.
࡙Do not drop objects on the product or apply impact.
࡙Do not move the product by pulling the power cord or any cable.
࡙If a gas leakage is found, do not touch the product or power plug. Also, ventilate the area
immediately.
࡙Do not lift or move the product by pulling the power cord or any cable.
࡙Do not use or keep combustible spray or an inflammable substance near the product.
࡙Ensure the vents are not blocked by tablecloths or curtains.
ࣕAn increased internal temperature may cause a fire.
࡙Do not insert metallic objects (chopsticks, coins, hairpins, etc) or objects that burn easily (paper,
matches, etc) into the product (via the vent or input/output ports, etc).
ࣕBe sure to power off the product and disconnect the power cord when water or other foreign
substances have entered the product. Then contact Samsung Customer Service Center.
࡙Do not place objects containing liquid (vases, pots, bottles, etc) or metallic objects on top of the
product.

Caution
࡙Leaving the screen fixed on a stationary image for an extended period of time may cause
afterimage burn-in or defective pixels.
ࣕActivate power-saving mode or a moving-picture screen saver if you will not be using the
product for an extended period of time.
࡙Disconnect the power cord from the power socket if you do not plan on using the product for an
extended period of time (vacation, etc).
ࣕDust accumulation combined with heat can cause a fire, electric shock or electric leakage.
࡙Use the product at the recommended resolution and frequency.
ࣕYour eyesight may deteriorate.
࡙Do not put AC/DC adapters together.
࡙Remove the plastic bag from the AC/DC adapter before you use it.
࡙Do not let water enter the AC/DC adapter device or get the device wet.
ࣕAn electric shock or fire may result.
ࣕAvoid using the product outdoors where it can be exposed to rain or snow.
ࣕBe careful not to get the AC/DC adapter wet when you wash the floor.
࡙Do not put the AC/DC adapter near to any heating apparatus.

࡙Keep the AC/DC adapter in a well-ventilated area.
࡙If you place the AC/DC power adapter so that it is hanging with the cord input facing upwards,
water or other foreign substances could enter the Adapter and cause the Adapter to malfunction.
Make sure to rest the AC/DC power adapter flat on a table or the floor.
࡙Insert the power plug into the AC/DC adapter until a click sound is heard.
࡙Do not insert only the power plug into the power outlet.
࡙Do not use an AC/DC adapter other than the provided one.
ࣕIt may cause electric shock or fire.
࡙Do not insert the AC/DC adapter into the power outlet on the ceiling.

Function Key Guide
ࣖTo enter the main menu or to use other items, press the JOG button to display the Function Key Guide. You can exit by pressing the JOG button again.
Return
UP/DOWN/LEFT/RIGHT: Move to the item you want. The description for each item will appear when the focus changes.
PRESS(ENTER): The selected item will be applied.
Icons Description
Selects to change the input signal by moving the JOG button in the Function Key Guide screen. A message will appear on the top left corner of the screen if the input signal has
been changed.
Selects by moving the JOG button in the function key guide screen.
The OSD (On Screen Display) of your Monitor’s feature appears.
OSD control lock: Maintain the current settings, or lock the OSD control to prevent unintended changes to settings.
Enable/Disable: To lock/unlock the OSD control, press the LEFT button for 10 seconds when the main menu displayed.

Changing the Volume setting
You can adjust Volume by moving the JOG button left or right, if no OSD menu is displayed.
This function is only available in HDMI mode.

ࣖThe displayed image may differ depending on the model.
ࣖIf the audio quality of a connected input device is poor, the Auto Mute function on the product may mute
the sound or cause choppy audio when applying the headphones or speakers. Set the input volume for the
input device to at least 20% and control the volume using the volume control (JOG button LEFT/RIGHT) on
the product.
ࣖWhat is Auto Mute?
The function mutes the audio to improve sound effect when there is sound noise or when the input
signal is weak, usually due to a problem with the volume of an input device.
ࣖTo activate the Mute function, access the Volume control screen, then use the JOG button to move the
focus down.
To deactivate the Mute function, access the Volume control screen, then increase or decrease the Volume.

Adjusting the Product Tilt

࡙Hold the lower part of the product and adjust the tilt carefully.
Anti-theft Lock
ࣖAn anti-theft lock allows you to use the product securely even in public places.
ࣖThe locking device shape and locking method depend on the manufacturer. Refer to the user guide
provided with your anti-theft locking device for details.
To lock an anti-theft locking device:

Fix the cable of your anti-theft locking device to a heavy object such as a desk.

Put one end of the cable through the loop on the other end.

Insert the locking device into the anti-theft lock slot at the back of the product.

Lock the locking device.
ࣕAn anti-theft locking device can be purchased separately.
ࣕRefer to the user guide provided with your anti-theft locking device for details.

Align the grooves and tightly fasten the screws on the bracket on the product with the corresponding
parts on the wall-mount kit or desktop stand you want to attach.

ࣕUsing a screw longer than the standard length can damage the internal components of the
product.
ࣕThe length of screws required for a wall mount that does not comply with the VESA standards
may vary depending on the speciѣcations.
ࣕDo not use screws that do not comply with the VESA standards. Do not attach the wall-mount kit
or desktop stand using excessive force. The product may get damaged or fall and cause personal
injury. Samsung shall not be held liable for any damage or injury caused by using improper
screws or attaching the wall-mount kit or desktop stand using excessive force.
ࣕSamsung shall not be held liable for any product damage or personal injury caused by using a
wall-mount kit other than the one speciѣed or from an attempt to install the wall-mount kit on
your own.
ࣕTo mount the product on a wall, ensure you purchase a wall-mount kit that can be installed 10
cm or farther away from the wall.
ࣕBe sure to use a wall-mount kit that complies with the standards.
ࣕTo install the monitor using a wall mount, disconnect the stand base from the monitor.

Insert the stand neck into the stand base in the
direction shown in the ѣgure.
Check that the stand neck is ѣrmly connected. Tightly fasten the connecting screw at the bottom
of the stand base.
- Caution
Do not press down on the monitor. There is a risk
of damaging the monitor.
Take out the two parts of the stand-the
connection part and the base-out of the
package.
Fasten the connection part onto the screen
with two screws.

Hold the main body of the product with your hand
as shown by the ѣgure. Push the assembled stand
into the main body in the direction of the arrow as
shown in the ѣgure.
ࣖBefore assembling the product, place the product down on a Ѥat and stable surface so that the screen is facing downwards.
: The product is curved. Placing pressure on the product when on a Ѥat surface may damage the product. When the product is on the ground facing up or down, do not put pressure on it.

Removing the Stand

Hold the main body of the product with your hand as
shown in the ѣgure. Remove the assembled stand
from the main body in the direction of the arrow
as shown in the ѣgure.
Remove the two screws to separate the stand
from the screen.
RThe stand is removed. emove the stand neck from the stand base by
pulling it in the direction of the arrow as shown in
the ѣgure.
- Caution
Do not press down on the monitor. There is a risk
of damaging the monitor.

Connecting and Using a Source Device
Chapter 03
Read below before installing the monitor.

Check the shapes of both ends of the cables that came with the monitor, and check the shapes and
positions of the matching ports on the monitor and external devices.

Before connecting signal cables, disconnect the power cables for the monitor and external devices
from the power outlet to prevent device damage from a short circuit or overcurrent.

After connecting all signal cables, connect the power cables for the monitor and external devices
to the power outlet.

Read the user manual to familiarize yourself with the monitor functions, precautions, and proper
use, before using the installed monitor.
Connecting and Using a PC
Select a connection method suitable for your PC.
ࣖConnecting parts may differ in different products.
ࣖProvided ports may vary depending on the product.
Check to make sure that the power cables for the monitor and external devices, such as
computers and set-top boxes, are not connected to the power outlet.
ࣖWhen connecting an HDMI cable, use the cable that came with the components of the monitor. If you use
an HDMI cable other than provided by Samsung, the image quality may be degraded.

ࣖThe audio function is not supported if the source device is connected using the HDMI-DVI cable.

Correct posture to use the product
Use the product in the correct posture as follows:

࡙Allow a distance of 45 to 50cm between your eye and the screen, and look slightly downward at

࡙Adjust the angle so light does not reflect on the screen.
࡙Keep your forearms perpendicular to your upper arms and level with the back of your hands.

attached to the floor, and your arms lower than your heart.

Setting Optimum Resolution
An information message about setting optimum resolution will appear if you power on the product for
the first time after purchase.
Select a language on the product and change the resolution on your PC to the optimum setting.

automatically recalls your personalized picture settings.
Dynamic: Select this mode to view a sharper image than in Standard mode.
Standard: Select this mode when the surroundings are bright. This also provides a sharp image.
Movie: Select this mode when the surroundings are dark. This will save power and reduce eye
fatigue.
Custom: Select this mode when you want to adjust the image according to your preferences.

HDMI Black Level
If a DVD player or set-top box is connected to the product via HDMI, image quality degradation (contrast/
color degradation, black level, etc.) may occur, depending on the connected source device. In such case,
HDMI Black Level can be used to adjust the image quality.
If this is the case, correct the degraded picture quality using HDMI Black Level.
ࣖThis function is only available in HDMI mode.
࡙Normal: Select this mode when there is no contrast ratio degradation.
࡙Low: Select this mode to reduce the black level and increase the white level when there is a
contrast ratio degradation.
ࣖHDMI Black Level may not be compatible with some source devices.
ࣖThe HDMI Black Level feature is only activated at a certain AV resolution, such as 720P and 1080P.
Eye Saver Mode
Set to an optimum picture quality suitable for eye relaxation.
TÜV Rheinland “Low Blue Light Content” is a certiѣcation for products which meet requirements for
lower blue light levels. When Eye Saver Mode is 'On', the blue light that wavelength is around 400nm
will decrease, and it will provide an optimum picture quality suitable for eye relaxation. At the same
time, the blue light level is lower than in the default settings, and it was tested by TÜV Rheinland and
certiѣed as it met the requirements of TÜV Rheinland “Low Blue Light Content” standards.
Game Mode
Conѣgure the product screen settings for game mode.
Use this feature when playing games on a PC or when a game console such as PlayStation™ or Xbox™
is connected.
ࣖThis menu is not available when Eye Saver Mode is enabled.
ࣖWhen the monitor turns off, enters power-saving mode or changes input sources, Game Mode turns Off

FreeSync
FreeSync technology is solution that eliminates screen tearing without all the usual lag and latency.
This feature will eliminate screen tearing and lag during game play. Improve your gaming experience.
The displayed FreeSync menu items on the monitor may vary, depending on the monitor model and
compatibility with the AMD graphics card.
The sound quality of the monitor may decrease if FreeSync is enabled.
Off: Disable FreeSync.
Standard Engine: Enable the basic FreeSync functions of the AMD graphics card.
Ultimate Engine: Enable the FreeSync feature with a higher screen frame rate. Screen tearing
(abnormal sync between the screen and content) is reduced in this mode. Note that screen
ickering may occur during game play.
Apply the optimum resolution when using FreeSync.
The refresh rate setting method please refer to Q & A How can I change the frequency?
The FreeSync function is only enabled in HDMI mode.
Use the HDMI cable provided by the manufacturer when using FreeSync.
If you use the FreeSync function while playing a game, the following symptoms may occur:
The screen may icker depending on the type of graphics card, the game option settings, or the
video being played. Try the following actions: decrease the game setting values, change the
current FreeSync mode to Standard Engine, or visit the AMD website to check your graphics driver’s
version and update it with the latest one.
While you are using the FreeSync function, the screen may icker due to variation of the output
frequency from the graphics card.
The response rate during the game may uctuate depending on the resolution. A higher resolution
generally decreases the response rate.
The sound quality of the monitor may be degraded.
If you encounter any issues when using the function, contact the Samsung Service Center.
When the resolution is changed while setting FreeSync to Standard Engine or Ultimate Engine, the screen
tearing can happen intermittently. Set FreeSync to Off and change the resolution.
The function is unavailable in the devices (e.g. AV devices) that have no AMD graphic card. If the function is
applied, the screen may have malfunction.

Check if your product is operating normally by using the product test function.
If the screen is turned off and the power indicator blinks even though the product is properly connected
to a PC, perform a self-diagnosis test.

Checking the Resolution and Frequency

ࣖThe displayed resolution may vary, depending on the computer system settings and cables.
Check the following.
Installation issue (PC mode)
The screen keeps switching on and off.
Check the cable connection between the product and PC, and ensure the connectors are locked.
Blank spaces are found on all four sides of the screen when an HDMI or HDMI-DVI cable is connected
to the product and PC.
The blank spaces found on the screen have nothing to do with the product.
Blank spaces on the screen are caused by the PC or graphics card. To resolve the problem, adjust the
screen size in the HDMI or DVI settings for the graphics card.
If the graphics card settings menu does not have an option to adjust the screen size, update the
graphics card driver to the latest version.
(Please contact the graphics card or computer manufacturer for further details about how to adjust
the screen settings.)
Screen issue
The power LED is off. The screen will not switch on.
Check that the power cable is connected properly.
The message Check Signal Cable appears.
Check that the cable is properly connected to the product.
Check that the device connected to the product is powered on.

Not Optimum Mode is displayed.
This message appears when the signal from the graphics card exceeds the maximum resolution or
frequency for the product.
Change the maximum resolution and frequency to suit the product performance, referring to
Standard Signal Mode Table (P.42).
The images on the screen look distorted.
Check the cable connection to the product.
The screen is not clear. The screen is blurry.
Remove any accessories (video extension cable, etc.) and try again.
Set the resolution and frequency to the recommended level.
The screen appears unstable and shaky. There are shadows or ghost images left on the screen.
Check that the resolution and frequency for the PC are within the range of resolution and frequency
compatible with the product. Next, if required, change the settings, referring to Standard Signal
Mode Table (P.42) in this manual and the Information menu on the product.
The screen is too bright. The screen is too dark.
Adjust Brightness and Contrast.
Screen color is inconsistent.
Change the Color settings.
The colors on the screen have a shadow and are distorted.

If a signal that belongs to the following standard signal modes is transmitted from your PC, the screen will automatically be adjusted. If the signal transmitted from the PC does not belong to the standard signal
modes, the screen may be blank even though the power LED turns on. In such a case, change the settings according to the following table by referring to the graphics card user manual.

ࣖHorizontal Frequency
The time required to scan a single line from the left to the right side of the screen is called a horizontal cycle. The reciprocal number of a horizontal cycle is called horizontal frequency. Horizontal frequency is measured in
kHz.
ࣖVertical Frequency
Repeating the same picture dozens of times per second allows you to view natural pictures. The repeat frequency is called "vertical frequency" or "refresh rate" and is indicated in Hz.
ࣖThis product can be set to only one resolution for each screen size to obtain the optimum picture quality due to the nature of the panel. Using a resolution other than the speciѣed resolution may degrade the picture quality.
To avoid this, it is recommended that you select the optimum resolution speciѣed for your product.
ࣖSome resolutions listed in the table above may not be available depending on graphics card speciѣcations.

Responsibility for the Pay Service (Cost to
Customers)
ࣖWhen the service is requested, in spite of in warranty, we may charge you for a visit from a service
technician in the following cases.
Not a product defect
Cleaning of the product, Adjustment, Explanation, Re-installation and etc.
࡙If a service technician gives instructions on how to use product or simply adjusts options without
disassembling product.
࡙If a defect is caused by external environmental factors (Internet, Antenna, Wired Signal, etc.)
࡙If a product is reinstalled or devices are connected additionally after installing the purchased
product for the ѣrst time.
࡙If a product is reinstalled to move to a different spot or to move to a different house.
࡙If customer requests instructions on how to use because of another company's product.
࡙If customer requests instructions on how to use the network or another company's Program.
࡙If customer requests software installation and setup for the product.
࡙If a service technician removes/cleans dusts or foreign materials inside of the product.
࡙If customer requests an installation additionally after purchasing a product through home-
shopping or online.
A Product damage caused by customer's fault
Product damage caused by customer's mishandling or wrong repair
If a product damage is caused by;
࡙External impact or drop.
࡙Use of supplies or separatly sold product unspeciѣed by Samsung.
࡙Repair from a person besides an engineer of outsourcing service company or partner of Samsung
Electronics Co., Ltd.
࡙Remodeling or repairing the product by customer.
࡙Using it with incorrect voltage or non-authorised electrical connections.
࡙Not following the "cautions" in User Manual.
Others
࡙If product fails by natural disaster. (lightning, ѣre, earthquake, Ѥood damage, etc)
࡙If consumable components are all used up. (Battery, Toner, Fluorescent lights, Head, Vibrator,
Lamp, Filter, Ribbon, etc.)
ࣖIf customer requests a service in case the product has no defect, service fee may be charged. So please
read User Manual ѣrst.
