electrical codes. If in doubt always consult with a qualied electrician to make sure the outdoor
installation is properly grounded. For additional lightning protection, lightning rods, lightning
arrestors or RJ45 surge protectors may be used to compliment the installation.

Strengths LEDs
Shows dierent signal strength levels. (Only supported in WDS,
Client Bridge + Repeater AP, CPE + Repeater AP Mode)
2 Power LED A solid green light indicates the device is powered and ready.
3 LAN LED
A solid green light indicates the LAN port connection is OK. A
blinking green light indicates that the unit is transmitting data
over that port.
4 LAN LED (PoE)
A solid green light indicates the LAN port (PoE) connection is OK.
A blinking green light indicates that the unit is transmitting data
over that port

Installation
Preparing Your Site
1. Determine the location for the included PoE injector and mount using the
appropriate screws/anchors for the material you are mounting to (not included).
2. Determine the location for the Wireless AP. If you are pole-mounting the AP, use
the included Pole Mounting Kit to secure the device. If you are wall mounting the
AP, use the appropriate screws/anchors for the material you are mounting to (not
included).
3. Prepare/purchase the required length of Ethernet cabling to go from the PoE
Injector to your LAN Switch or router, and from PoE Injector to the AP. The total
length of Ethernet cabling from the Wireless AP to your LAN switch or router should
not exceed 100m.
Note: Molded / Snagless Ethernet cables are not advised for this product, as the added
bulk on the connector end makes it dicult to t within the included Cable Grommets.

Hardware Installation
1. Connect the included power adapter to an available wall outlet and the DC jack to
the PoE injector.
2. Connect an Ethernet cable from the LAN port of the PoE Injector to your LAN switch
or router.
3. Connect a second, longer Ethernet cable from the PoE port of the PoE Injector. The
other end of this cable will connect to the AP as instructed in the following steps.
4. Unscrew the Cap portion of the Cable Grommet and remove the Collar.
5. Slide the Cap onto the cable rst, then split the Collar and wrap it around the cable.
6. Connect the cable to the PoE port on the AP, then slide the Collar into the Grommet.
7. Thread the Cap over the assembly.
Note: The AP may take up to 2 mins to complete the power on sequence.
8. Connect an Ethernet cable from the LAN port of the PoE Injector to your LAN switch
or router.

Operation

Default Settings
Default IP Address: 192.168.2.254
Username / Password: root / default
1. Congure a system to be on the same subnet as the AP (e.g. 192.168.2.2 – 253).
2. Open your preferred web browser and enter the IP address 192.168.2.254 into the
address bar, then press Enter.
3. Enter your Username / Password to login to the web interface (Default: root /
default).
4. From the menu at the top, select System -> Operating Mode, to select your preferred
mode from the available options, then click Save & Reboot.
Router AP Mode
(R300WN22MOD /
ODx only)
In Router AP Mode, 802.11n/g/b compliant devices can connect to
the wireless network, with NAT to bridge LAN / WAN connections.
AP Mode In access point (AP) mode, 802.11n/g/b compliant devices can
connect to the wireless network.
WDS Mode Wireless distribution system (WDS) mode expands current wireless
coverage from other Wireless AP devices that are in WDS mode.
Client Bridge +
Repeater AP Mode
WISP Client Bridge + Repeater mode acts as a bridge between two
LAN segments over a wireless link, extending network coverage.
CPE + Repeater AP
Mode
WISP CPE + Repeater mode acts as a bridge between two LAN
segments over a wireless link, extending network coverage, with
NAT to bridge LAN / WAN connections

5. Once the AP reboots into your desired mode, re-connect to the web interface.
6. Select System -> Setup Wizard to go through the basic conguration for that mode.
Available screens and settings will vary, depending on the mode selected.
AP Mode Setup
LAN Setup – Congure your desired IP Address settings for the LAN interface of the AP,
then click Next.
Note: If you change the default IP address, use the new address to connect to the web
interface going forward.
DNS – Congure a primary and secondary DNS server, if desired, then click Next.

Wireless Setup – Congure your desired wireless settings including SSID, wireless
mode and transmit power, then click Next.
Wireless Security Setup – Select your desired wireless security type and congure a
key, then click Finish to apply your settings and restart the AP.
Note: It is strongly recommended to congure security, to avoid unwanted access to
your wireless network.
To restrict access to the web interface of your AP, it is also recommended to congure
a password, which can be done by selecting System -> Management from the menu.
Click Save to apply the changes.
Note: The root account allows read / write access to the AP interface, while the admin
account allows read only.
