Safety Precautions
Air Circulation
Leave more than 10cm around all edges when wall
mounting the television to allow adequate ventilation.
This will prevent overheating and possible damage to
the television. Dusty places should also be avoided.
Heat Damage
Damage may occur if the television is left in direct sunlight
or near a heater. Avoid places subject to extremely high
temperatures or humidity. Place in a location where the
temperature remains between 5°C (41°F) min. and 35°C
(94°F) max.
Mains Supply
The mains supply required for this equipment is 220-240V AC
50/60Hz. Never connect to a DC supply or any other power
source. DO ensure that the television is not standing on the
mains lead.
DO NOT cut off the mains plug from this equipment,
this incorporates a special Radio Interference Filter,
the removal of which will impair its performance. In
the UK, the fuse fitted in this plug is approved by
ASTA or BSI to BS1362.
It should only be replaced by a correctly rated and approved
type and the fuse cover must be
refitted.
IF IN DOUBT, PLEASE CONSULT A COMPETENT
ELECTRICIAN.
Do
DO read the operating instructions before you
attempt to use the equipment.
DO ensure that all electrical connections (including
the mains plug, extension leads and inter-connections
between pieces of equipment) are properly made and
in accordance with the manufacturers’ instructions.
Switch off and withdraw the mains plug before
making or changing connections.
DO consult your dealer if you are ever in doubt
about the installation, operation or safety of your
equipment.
DO be careful with glass panels on equipment.

Please read the points below for your own safety. They are of a general nature, intended to help with all
electronic consumer products and some points may not apply to the goods you have just purchased.
Do Not
DO NOT obstruct the ventilation openings of
the equipment with items such as newspapers,
tablecloths, curtains, etc. Overheating will cause
damage and shorten the life of the equipment.
DO NOT allow electrical equipment to be exposed
to dripping or splashing or objects filled with liquids,
such as vases, to be placed on the equipment.

Where to install
Locate the television away from direct sunlight and strong lights, soft, indirect lighting is recommended for
comfortable viewing. Use curtains or blinds to prevent direct sunlight falling on the screen.
Place the TV set on a stable, level surface that can support the weight of the TV.
The LCD display panels are manufactured using an extremely high level of precision technology, however
sometimes some parts of the screen may be missing picture elements or have luminous spots. This is not a
sign of a malfunction.
Make sure the television is located in a position where it cannot be pushed or hit by objects, as pressure will
break or damage the screen, and that small items cannot be inserted into slots or openings in the case.
Avoid using chemicals (such as air refreshers, cleaning agents, etc.) on or near the TV pedestal.
Studies indicate that plastics may weaken and crack over time from the combination effects of
chemical agents and mechanical stress (such as weight of TV). Failure to follow these instructions
could result in serious injury and/or permanent damaged to TV and TV pedestal.
Cleaning the screen and cabinet...
Turn off the power, and clean the screen and cabinet with a soft, dry cloth. We recommend that you do not
use any proprietary polishes or solvents on the screen or cabinet as this may cause damage.
When using a Wall Bracket
Please use a wall bracket appropriate for the size and weight of the LCD TV.
Two people are required for installation.
To install a wall-mount from another manufacturer.
1. Unplug and remove any cables and/or other connections from the rear of the TV.
2.
3. Follow the instructions provided with your wall bracket. Before proceeding, make sure the appropriate
bracket(s) are attached to the wall and the back of the TV as described in the instructions provided with
the wall bracket.
4. Always use the screws supplied or recommended by the wall mount manufacturer.
Removing the Pedestal Stand:
1.
2. Remove the screws.
3. After the screws are removed, hold the pedestal stand in place, then remove it from the TV by sliding
away from the bottom of the TV.
NOTE: Extreme care should always be used when removing the pedestal stand to avoid damage to the LCD panel.

Connecting an HDMI or DVI Device to the HDMI Input
The HDMI input on your television receives digital audio and uncompressed digital video from an HDMI
source device or uncompressed digital video from a DVI (Digital Visual Interface) source device.
This input is designed to accept HDCP (High-Bandwidth Digital-Content Protection) programme material in
digital form from EIA/CEA-861-D–compliant [1] consumer electronic devices (such as a set-top box or DVD
player with HDMI or DVI output). For acceptable video signal formats, see page 13.
NOTE:
Some early HDMI equipment may not work properly with your latest HDMI TV, due to the adoption of a
new standard.
Supported Audio format: Linear PCM and Dolby Digital, sampling rate 32/44.1/48kHz.
To connect an HDMI device
Connect an HDMI cable (type A connector) from the device to the HDMI terminal. For proper operation, it is
recommended that you use an HDMI cable with the HDMI Logo (

If your HDMI connection is capable of 1080p and/or your television is capable of refresh rates greater than
50Hz, you will need a Category 2 cable. Conventional HDMI/DVI cable may not work properly with this
mode.
HDMI cable transfers both video and audio. Separate analogue audio cables are not required (see

USB HDD Record Function
This function can be used to record and play digital
broadcast programmes (function is dependant on
country selection). Read the precautions below
before recording or viewing programmes using the
USB HDD record function.
NOTE:
In order to use this function, a USB HDD needs to
be connected to the TV. Do not use USB Hub.
After recording operation, time may take to a
recording start.
Recorded programmes saved on the USB HDD
can only be viewed on this TV. They cannot be
viewed when connected to another TV (including
the same model of TV), a PC, or other device.
You cannot watch other channel while recording
one channel.
If the recording time to the USB HDD is too short,
no data may be saved.
You cannot record video input signals on the USB
HDD.
Not all types of broadcast may be recordable.
After programming the TV to record digital
broadcasting, do not disconnect the power plug
before recording starts.
Should video or audio recording fail due to
malfunction of the TV or poor reception, no
compensation would be paid.
If there is a power failure or the power plug is
disconnected during programmed recording,
recording will stop and will not resume when the
power returns or the plug is reconnected.
Do not disconnect the power plug when the
indicator LED is lit.
Any changes implemented by the broadcasting
station may affect programme scheduling.
Scheduling of multiple consecutive programmes
may result in the beginning of each programme
not being recorded.
Accurate start / finish time for recording is reliant
on broadcasters maintaining correct time stamp if
this not the case the recording will fail.
Some broadcasters can control whether a
program can be recorded or how long you may be
able to view it for after recording. The on screen
message “Retention limit expired” means that the
time limit for viewing the program has lapsed.
Programmed recording cannot take place if the
power plug is not connected.
Disconnecting the power plug during recording
may result in failure to save the recorded
programme.
Locked channels cannot be recorded, even if
you might be watching a programme on a locked
channel.
USB HDD recording feature is not available in all
countries.
When the USB HDD is formatted, all the data
stored on the HDD will be erased.
