Instrucciones de Instalación
Al desempacar su refrigerador
Colocar su refrigerador en su posición nal, siga las siguientes
instrucciones.
A. Retire los aditamentos de empaque, incluso los interiores.
B. En algunos modelos dos niveladores están empacados en el
refrigerador en una bolsa plástica dentro de la charola de
legumbres, al desempacar se recomienda el siguiente
procedimiento, ver Figura 1:
1. Saque los dos niveladores de la charola de legumbres.
2. Con la ayuda de una persona, incline el producto a un
costado y retire la base de madera usando un
desarmador 3/8" para retirar los tornillos.
3. Instale el nivelador en ese costado del refrigerador.
4. Repita el paso 2 para el otro costado del refrigerador.
5. Repita el paso 3 para el otro costado del refrigerador.
C. Coloque su refrigerador bajo las siguientes recomendaciones:
■Deje un espacio de 1¹/" (3,81 cm) entre la parte superior del
refrigerador y los gabinetes.
■Deje cuando menos un espacio de 1" (2,54 cm) entre el
condensador del refrigerador en la parte posterior y la pared.
■Deje un espacio de 1/2"(1,25 cm) a cada lado del aparato
para facilitar la instalación.
■Si el refrigerador va estar contra la pared lateral,
deje un espacio adicional para permitir que la puerta abra
correctamente.
D. Nivele su refrigerador usando las siguientes instrucciones:
■

parte superior del refrigerador o
mueve, entonces estará nivelado.

Instrucciones para la puesta a tierra
Método de puesta a tierra
Su refrigerador está equipado con un
cordón eléctrico provisto de un enchufe
de puesta a tierra de 3 terminales. Para
disminuir a un mínimo la posibilidad de
sufrir choque eléctrico, el cordón debe
ser conectado en un tomacorriente
mural del tipo con puesta a tierra para
enchufes de 3 terminales, puesto a
tierra de acuerdo con el Código
Nacional de Electricidad y todos los
códigos y reglamentos locales. Si no
se dispone un tomacorriente de este tipo, es responsabilidad y
obligación del cliente hacer instalar un tomacorriente mural para
enchufes de 3 terminales debidamente puesto a tierra por un
Despachador de Agua (algunos modelos)
Su nuevo refrigerador posee un innovador
despachador de agua en la puerta, esto le
favorece al tener agua fresca disponible
y a reducir el número de veces que abre
la puerta de su refrigerador, ayudándole
a reducir el consumo de energía en el
producto.
Tanque de almacenamiento de agua
El tanque de almacenamiento de agua es de llenado manual y
se localiza en la parte interior de la puerta del compartimento del
refrigerador. Tiene como capacidad máxima 4 litros de agua.
IMPORTANTE:
■Limpie el sistema antes de utilizarlo por primera vez. Para
hacerlo, llene el tanque de almacenamiento con agua limpia
y oprima la palanca del despachador con un vaso grande o
una jarra hasta que saque al menos un litro de agua. Tire esa
agua. Este proceso ayuda a limpiar el sistema y despejar el
aire de la válvula dispensadora. Una vez limpio el sistema,
espere a que se enfríe el agua antes de usar el despachador
nuevamente. Al utilizar agua, llenar únicamente con agua
potable.El despachador es para uso exclusivo de líquidos.

NOTA: Bebidas como la leche, los jugos con pulpa y semillas
pueden obstruir la válvula y causar el mal funcionamiento del
dispensador.
■Whirlpool no se responsabiliza de los daños causados al
despachador y su sistema debido a la utilización de otros
líquidos con pulpa y/o semillas.
NOTAS
■Después de 6 horas la bebida carbonatada puede perder su
efervescencia.
■Lavar el tanque antes de rellenar con otra bebida (ver
limpieza del dispensador).
Llenado del tanque de almacenamiento de agua
Para llenar el tanque de
almacenamiento de agua, gire la tapa
pequeña de la cubierta y retirela. A
continuación vierta el agua con una
jarra.
NOTA: La tapa pequeña no se retirará
completamente de la cubierta del tanque de almacenamiento.
IMPORTANTE: Siempre llene el tanque de almacenamiento de
agua cuando esté debidamente colocado sobre la puerta.
Cómo usar el despachador de agua:
1. Tome y oprima con un vaso resistente o
una jarra, la parte central de la palanca
del despachador.
2. Después de obtener el agua necesaria,
deje de hacer presión sobre la palanca,
pero no retire el vaso o la jarra hasta
que haya dejado de correr el agua
completamente.
IMPORTANTE: Siempre despache agua
sujetando el vaso (o recipiente) con la mano.
No intente dejar un vaso solo en la cavidad
del despachador.
NOTA: Es posible que el agua tenga un sabor
extraño si no utiliza el despachador periódicamente.

Para limpiar el tanque de almacenamiento de agua:

2. Finalmente coloque el tanque en la puerta tomándolo con
ambas manos e inclinandolo ligeramente hacia arriba,
engánchelo en las patitas laterales de la pared interna de la

NOTA: Cerciórese de que el tanque de almacenamiento haya
sido colocado correctamente sobre la puerta y que no existe
ninguna posibilidad de que se caiga.
Cómo usar el refrigerador con control
electrónico
Control de Temperatura
El control de temperatura de su refrigerador es inteligente . Con
él puede ajustar la tem-peratura del compartimiento del producto
según usted lo necesite.
Como ajustar la temperatura del compartimiento del
refrigerador:
El producto tiene de fábrica una temperatura recomendada, para
ajustar ésta temperatura solo tendrá que presionar el botón ,éste
cambio disminuye la temperatura del producto, el cambio es
unidireccional de Cold hacia Coldest (Izquierda a derecha), una
vez que el control esté en la posición más fría (Coldest) al
presionar nuevamente se irá a la menos fría (Cold).
■Ésta es la temperatura más
fría (Coldest) en el producto.
Todos los indicadores se
encontrarán iluminados.
■El ajuste de temperatura
menos fría será re lejado con

Para remover las parrillas completas de vidrio
o alambre
Ajuste las parrillas del refrigerador de acuerdo a la forma en
que se usa el refrigerador.
Para quitar las parrillas:
1. Retire todos los artículos de las parrillas.
2. Levante la parte posterior.
3. Deslice la parrilla hacia afuera.
Para volver a colocar las parrillas:
1. Ponga la parte trasera de la parrilla en los rieles
situados en las paredes laterales.
2. Guíe la parte delantera de la parrilla en los rieles.
3. Deslícela hacia adentro hasta que tope.

Control de humedad del cajón para
legumbres (algunos modelos)
Para la mejor conservación de sus frutas y legumbres
incluimos este control que regula la entrada de aire frío al cajón
para legumbres.
Presione hacia la izquierda o derecha dependiendo el nivel de
humedad que requiera dentro del Cajón.
En el congelador encontrará una perilla que regula la distribución
refrigerador.
Existen tres posiciones para la perilla del congelador:
1. “Max Congelador”:
sección del congelador.
2. “RECOMENDADO”:
refrigerador y el congelador.
3. “Max Refrigerador”:
la sección del refrigerador.
Cuidado de su refrigerador
Procedimiento para limpieza de puertas y gabinetes con
mancha de oxido Importante:Mantén el refrigerador en un
ambiente seco. Al haber acumulación de humedad, el metal se
oxida y se produce herrumbre.

Después de que el refrigerador pare, se puede oir por algunos

Installation Instructions
After removing your refrigerator from its packaging
Place your refrigerator in its denitive position and follow the
instructions below.
A. Remove the attachments from the packaging, including the
interior accessories.
B. In some models, the refrigerator’s vegetable storage drawer
contains a plastic bag with two levelers. When unpacking,
proceed as follows, see Figure 1:
1. Remove the two levelers from the vegetable storage
drawer.
2. With the help of another person, tilt the product to one side
and remove the wooden base, using a 3/8" screwdriver to
remove the screws.
3. Install the leveler on this side of the refrigerator.
4. Repeat step 2 for the other side of the refrigerator.
5. Repeat step 3 for the other side of the refrigerator.
C. Place the refrigerator as recommended below:
■Leave a space of 1¹/" (3.81 cm) between the top of the
refrigerator and the cabinets.
■Leave a space of at least 1" (2.54 cm) between the condenser
on the back of the refrigerator and the wall.
■Leave a space of 1.25 cm (1/2") in each side of the appliance
to facilitate installation.
■If the refrigerator is going to be placed against a side wall,
leave additional space to allow the door to open properly

■For greater accuracy, check with a
carpenter’s level placed on top of
the refrigerator. If it does not move
when the door is opened and closed,
the refrigerator is leveled.

door will tend to swing closed.

Water Dispenser (some models)
water dispenser on the door to keep
chilled water available and reduce the
number of times you open the refrigerator
door, which helps reduce the product’s
power consumption.
Water storage tank
inside of the refrigerator compartment door. It has a maximum
capacity of 4 liters of water.
IMPORTANT:
■
dispenser paddle with a large glass or jug until you have
removed at least a liter of water. Discard that water. This
dispenser valve. Once the system is clean, wait until the water
only with drinking water. The dispenser should be used with
liquids only.

NOTE: Drinks such as milk, juices with pulp and seeds may clog
the valve and cause the dispenser to malfunction.

How to use the water dispenser:
1. Press a sturdy glass or jug against the

water. Do not try to leave a glass unattended
in the dispenser well.

Cleaning the dispenser
Cleaning the water storage tank:
1. With both hands, grasp the water storage
tank and tilt it slightly upwards, then
pull upwards until the tank completely
disengages from the refrigerator door
2.

3. Release the valve by rotating it counter-clockwise
4. Use a damp sponge or soft cloth with a neutral
soap or detergent. Rinse thoroughly and make
sure no soap residue is left behind. Finally, dry
with a clean, soft cloth.
NOTE:
IMPORTANT: Before reattaching the storage tank to the door,
make sure that:
•The valve has been properly attached.
Make sure the valve stop is making
contact with the stop located on the
storage tank.
•And also make sure that the isolation ring
is properly placed on the tank, as shown
To reattach the storage tank to the refrigerator door:
1. Attach the valve to the tank by rotating it clockwise, insert the
tank cover lid strap and reposition the cover.
2. Finally, use both hands to reattach the tank to the door, tilting
it slightly upward. Secure it to the side brackets on the inside
NOTE: Make sure the storage tank has been correctly secured to
the door, and that there is no chance it will fall.
How to use the refrigerator with
electronic control
Temperature Control
as needed.
To set the refrigerator compartment temperature:
The product is set to the recommended temperature at the
factory. To adjust that temperature, simply press the button.
This will decrease product temperature. The setting change is
unidirectional, from Cold to Coldest (left to right). Once the control
is in the Coldest position, it will move back to the least cold setting
(Cold) if pressed again.
■This is the coldest temperature
(Coldest) in the product. All the
indicators will be on.
■The least cold temperature
setting will be displayed
(left to right) on.
■The median minimum
temperature will be displayed
when you press the button
once from the least cold
second indicators will be on.
■The recommended temperature
will be displayed with the
second indicator on.
■The median minimum
temperature will be displayed
when you press the button
once from the recommended
temperature. The second and
third indicators will be on.
■The cold temperature will be
displayed when you press
the button once from the
median temperature. The third
indicator will come on.
Remove the entire glass or wire shelf
Position the refrigerator shelves according to what you want to
store in the refrigerator.
To remove the shelves:
1. Remove all the items from the shelves.
2. Lift up the back part of the shelf.
3. Slide the shelf out.
To replace the shelves:
1. Place the back part of the shelf over the rails on the sides of
the refrigerator cavity.
2. Guide the front part of the shelf onto the rails.
3. Slide the shelf fully in.

Humidity control on crisper drawer
(some models)
The crisper humidity control has been included in your drawer to
keep your fruits and vegetables fresh.
Press left towards the left or right depending on the desired
humidity level inside the crisper drawer.
There is a knob inside the freezer
the freezer section and the refrigerator section.
The freezer knob has three positions:
1. “Max Freezer”:
freezer section.
2. “RECOMMENDED”:
and the refrigerator.
3. “Max Refrigerator”:
the refrigerator section.
Taking care of your refrigerator

If you followed the instructions in the installation, use and care guide correctly and have questions about the refrigerator’s operation,
IF THE REFRIGERATOR DOES NOT WORK
•Plug it in directly and properly, WITHOUT USING EXTENSION CORDS.
•Check the ELECTRICAL CONTACT, WHICH COULD BE DAMAGED. Plug in another appliance to test whether it works.
•
•Make sure that the TEMPERATURE CONTROL IS IN THE ON POSITION.
•Make sure the refrigerator IS NOT CLOSE TO A HEAT SOURCE SUCH as an oven, stove or direct sunlight.

•LEVEL THE REFRIGERATOR. Remove the wooden bases and adjust the leveling screws (FIGURE 1).

•Set the TEMPERATURE CONTROL KNOB TO MED (medium cold) and wait for at least 24 hours before changing the
