Rack Installation
Level the Rack
The leveling feet at the corners of the Easy Rack
provide a stable base if the floor is uneven, but
they cannot compensate for a badly sloped
surface.
Ensure the rack is in its intended location.
Use a 13 mm open-ended wrench to lower the
leveling feet if the rack is loaded with equipment.
Adjust each foot and, using a level, adjust the
feet until the rack is level and plumb.
ns3090a
Join the Racks
Join racks with the provided brackets to provide alignment and added stability.
Racks may be joined with or without the side panels installed.

before installing equipment.
Failure to follow these instructions can result in death, serious injury, or
equipment damage.
If installed, remove the front and rear doors. See the “Door Removal” section for
instructions.
Choose between 24 in. or 600 mm centers.
Align the racks and locate the joining brackets.
There are two brackets on the front and two
brackets on the back of each rack.
Racks are joined using a M5 x 12 countersunk
screw, provided in the hardware bag. Using the

Ground the Rack
DANGER
ELECTRIC SHOCK HAZARD
Connection of the rack to the Common Bonding Network (CBN) of the building
is required.
Failure to follow these instructions will result in death or serious injury.
Each rack should be bonded directly to a common ground using one of the
designated grounding locations (two M6 threaded inserts) at the top or bottom of
the cabinet.
• Use a Common Bonding Network Kit (for example: Listed [KDER] Panduit®
RGCBNJ660PY or equivalent).
• Use paint-piercing washers between the ground terminal and the rack frame,
or remove the paint on the frame under the ground terminals, per NEC NFPA
70 Article 250.12.
• Torque the screws to 6.9 N•m (60 lb-in.).
NOTE: Additional functional grounding points are available at the top of the
rack. Do not connect the building CBN to these functional grounding points.

Secure the Rack
WARNING
TIP HAZARD
Secure the rack to the floor before installing equipment.
Failure to follow these instructions can result in death, serious injury, or
equipment damage.
NOTE: Secure the rack to the floor only with the casters and leveling feet
installed and the leveling feet in position to firmly and levelly support the rack.
The rack can be bolted to the floor as shown
below. Open or remove the doors to access the
mounting points on the rack’s frame. Use the

hinges are on the left and the door is opening from the right.
Remove the handle by removing the screw-
plate. Pull the handle from the door.
ns3103a
Disconnect the ground wire, and any other

Equipment Installation
NOTE: Easy Racks are intended for use with Listed equipment. If un-Listed
equipment is installed, you should evaluate the safety of your configuration.
Adjust the Vertical Mounting Flanges
Vertical mounting flanges come factory-installed
at 737 mm (29 in.), the proper location for use
with rack-mountable equipment.
The mounting flanges are adjustable towards
the front or the rear of the cabinet to
accommodate different rails or equipment with
other depths.
A common application for the 800 mm (31.5 in.)
racks is to move the flanges to a depth of 476
mm (18.75.) to accommodate networking and
telecommunications equipment.
ns1621b
Position the Vertical Mounting Flanges
Configuration 1: The Accessory Channel is
installed. The Vertical Mounting Flanges can be
installed a minimum distance of (a) and can
extend as far as (b).
Configuration 2: The Accessory Channel is
removed. The Vertical Mounting Flanges can
extend as far as (c).

Zero U Accessory Mounting Brackets
The Zero U Accessory Mounting Brackets may be moved to different locations
within the rack in order to mount your equipment. There are two different Mounting
Brackets in the rack. One for the left side and one for the right side. The smallest
part of the mounting holes in the bracket should be at the bottom when it is in the
proper position.
To reposition the Zero U Mounting Bracket
The Mounting Bracket is attached to the rack with two (2) M6 x 12 pan head T30
screws and two (2) cage nuts.
1. Remove the two (2) M6 x 12 pan head T30 screws with the Torx tool
(provided).
2. Remove the Mounting Bracket and then, remove the cage nuts from their
current location.
3. Install the cage nuts in the location you have chosen to mount your
equipment.
4. Install the Mounting Bracket with the two (2) M6 x 12 pan head T30 screws.
5. Mount your equipment. Mounting a Rack PDU with a toolless mounting

WARNING
TIP HAZARD
• This rack is easily tipped. Make sure you have secured the rack to the floor
before installing equipment.
• Install the heaviest equipment first and toward the bottom of the rack to
prevent the rack from becoming top-heavy.
• Do not extend equipment on sliding rails until you have 150 kg (350 lb) of
equipment installed in the bottom of the rack for stability or until the rack is
bolted to the floor and secured to neighboring racks in the row. Never extend
more than one piece of equipment on sliding rails at a time.
Failure to follow these instructions can result in death, serious injury, or
equipment damage.
To install rack-mount equipment in the cabinet:
1. Review the equipment manufacturer’s installation instructions.
2. Locate the top and bottom U space on the vertical mounting rails. Every third
hole on the mounting rails is numbered to indicate the middle of a U space.
3. Install the cage nuts on the interior of the vertical mounting rail; then install the
equipment.
