About the LED indicators
The HSB13SATSASB features two LED indicators located on the front of the mobile
rack, to the left of the door.

Install the mobile rack
Warning! Always handle storage devices with caution. Make sure that you’re properly
grounded by wearing an anti-static strap when you install any computer component.
If an anti-static strap isn’t available, touch a large, grounded metal surface for several
seconds to discharge any built-up static electricity.
1. Turn o your computer and any devices or peripherals that are connected to it.
2. Unplug the power cable from the back of your computer.
3. Disconnect any peripheral devices that are connected to your computer.
4. Open your computer case. For more information about how to do this, consult the
documentation that came with your computer system.
5. Remove the cover of a 5.25” drive bay.
6. Insert the mobile rack into the drive bay slot, making sure that the screw holes on
the mobile rack are aligned with the holes in the drive bay.
7. If necessary, use the provided screws to secure the mobile rack to the drive bay.
8. Do one of the following to connect the mobile rack to the computer’s power
supply:
• Connect the Molex to SATA and LED cable to the SATA or SAS power
connector on the mobile rack and to the power supply.
• Connect the SATA to SATA and LED cable to the SATA or SAS power
connector on the mobile rack and to the power supply.
9. Connect the LED cable to the LED connector on the mobile rack.
10. Connect the SATA/SAS data cable to the SATA or SAS data connector on the
mobile rack and to a SATA or SAS port on the computer motherboard or controller
card.
11. Place the cover back onto your computer case.
12. Reconnect the power cable to the back of your computer.
13. Reconnect any devices or peripherals that were connected to your computer.
14. Turn on your computer.

Install a hard drive
Warning! Drives should be handled carefully, especially when you transport them. If
you’re not careful with your drives, you may experience lost or corrupted data.
1. Open the Door on the mobile rack.
2. Position the hard drive so that the label faces upwards and the rear panel of the
hard drive is aimed towards the inside of the computer.
3. Gently push the hard drive into the mobile rack until the Door begins to close.
4. Close the Door on the mobile rack and make sure that it clicks shut.
Warning! Do not forcibly close the Door on the mobile rack. If you encounter
resistance when you try to close the Door, the hard drive could be inserted incorrectly.
Remove the hard drive and make sure that it’s inserted correctly.
5. To lock the hard drive in the mobile rack, insert the provided key into the Security
lock and turn the key counterclockwise 90°, and then remove the key.

Warning! If the Activity LED on the front of the mobile rack is blinking, do not remove
the hard drive. Wait until the LED stops blinking and then remove the hard drive from
the mobile rack.
1. If the Door on the mobile rack is locked, insert the provided key into the Security
lock and turn the key clockwise 90°, and then remove the key.
2. Open the Door on the mobile rack and make sure that it’s out of the way of the
hard drive.
3. Slowly pull the hard drive out of the mobile rack.
4. Close the Door on the mobile rack.
