Requirements
Source Device (s)
The following equipment must be installed on the source device or
computer that acts as a source of VGA/Audio content:
• HDB-15 connector
Receiving Device
• ATEN VB552 (VGA Over Cat 5 Repeater)
• ATEN VE200R (Audio/Video Extender)
Display Device
• A VGA, SVGA, XGA, SXGA, UXGA or multisync display device or
receiver with an HDB-15 connector
Cables
• Use the VGA/Audio Cable supplied with the VS1504 / VS1508 package
to connect the source device to the VS1504 / VS1508.
• Use Cat 5e cable to connect the VS1504 / VS1508 to the VB552
repeater.

Hardware Installation (B)
• Before beginning the installation procedure, ensure that all equipment to
be connected is powered off.
• To prevent damage to your installation, make sure that all devices are
properly grounded.
1. Connect one end of the VGA/Audio cable to the video and audio ports
on the source device (e.g. computer or DVD player).
2. Connect the other end of the VGA/Audio cable to the Video In and Audio
In ports on the VS1504 / VS1508.
3. If you are cascading the VS1504 / VS1508, use Cat 5e cable to connect
Unit to Unit Port on the parent device to the Cascade In port on the child
device.
4. Use Cat 5e cable to connect the Unit to Unit Port on the parent device to
the Unit to Unit Port on the receiving device.
5. Plug the monitor’s video and audio cables into the Video Out and
Audio Out ports on the VS1504 / VS1508.
6. Using the power adapter supplied with this package, connect the
VS1504 / VS1508 to an AC power outlet.
7. Turn on the source and display devices.
Note: Compatible receiving device is the VB552 VGA Over Cat 5
Repeater/VE200R Audio/Video Extender
Setting the Local RS-232 Timeout
There are three options: 30 secs (default); 5 secs; and disabled
• Press and hold the Local Serial Port Selection pushbutton for two
seconds or more until the Local Serial Port Selected LED flashes every
two seconds to show that the timeout is changed to 5 sec.
• Press and hold the Local Serial Port Selection pushbutton for two
seconds or more until the Local Serial Port Selected LED flashes every
second to show that the timeout is changed to 30 sec.
• Press and hold the Local Serial Port Selection pushbutton for two
seconds or more until the Local Serial Port Selected LED flashes every
half second to show that the timeout has been disabled.

Installation du matériel (B)

Hardware installieren (B)
• Schalten Sie vor der Installation alle anzuschließenden Geräte aus.

Instalación del hardware (B)

Installazione hardware (B)
• Prima di iniziare l’installazione assicurarsi che tutti i dispositivi da
collegare siano spenti
• Allo scopo di prevenire danni durante l’installazione, assicurarsi che tutti
i dispositivi interessati siano dotati di un’adeguata messa a terra.
1. Connettere un’estremità del cavo combinato audio/VGA alle porte
audio e video del dispositivo sorgente (ad es. computer o lettore DVD).
2. Connettere l’altra estremità del cavo VGA/audio alle porte Video In ed
Audio In del VS1504/VS1508
3. Qualora si stia collegando a cascata il VS1504/VS1508, utilizzare il cavo
Cat 5e per connettere la porta da unità ad unità sul dispositivo a monte,
alla porta Cascade In sul dispositivo a valle.
4. Utilizzare il cavo Cat5e per connettere la porta da unità ad unità del
dispositivo a monte alla porta da unità ad unità del dispositivo ricevente*.
5. Inserire i cavi audio e video nelle porte Audio Out e Video Out sul
VS1504/VS1508.
6. Utilizzare l’alimentatore in dotazione per connettere il VS1504/VS1508
ad una presa di corrente CA.
7. Accendere il computer ed i monitor.
Nota: I dispositivi riceventi compatibili sono il ripetitore VGA su Cat5
VB552 e l'estensore audio/video VE200R
Impostazione del timeout dell’RS-232 locale
Esistono tre opzioni: 30 sec (predefinito); 5 sec; disabilitato
• Tenere premuto per due o più secondi il pulsante di Selezione della porta
seriale locale, fino a quando il LED della porta seriale locale selezionata
non lampeggia ogni due sec, a indicare che il timeout è passato a 5 sec.
• Tenere premuto per due o più secondi il pulsante di Selezione della porta
seriale locale, fino a quando il LED della porta seriale locale selezionata
non lampeggia ogni due sec, a indicare che il timeout è passato a 30 sec.
• Tenere premuto per due o più secondi il pulsante di Selezione della porta
seriale locale, fino a quando il LED della porta seriale locale selezionata
non lampeggia ogni due sec, a indicare che il timeout è stato disabilitato.

하드웨어 설치 (B)
•장비를 설치하기 전에, 연결된 모든 장비들의 전원이 꺼져 있는지 확인합니다.

접지되어 있는지 확인합니다.
1. VGA/오디오 케이블의 한 쪽을 소스 장비(컴퓨터 또는 DVD 플레이어)의

2. VGA/오디오 케이블의 다른 한쪽을 VS1504 / VS1508 장비의 비디오/오디오
입력 포트에 각각 연결합니다.
3. VS1504 / VS1508 제품을 캐스캐이드로 설치하려면, Cat 5e 케이블을
사용해서, 상위 레벨 장비의 Unit to Unit번 포트와 하위 레벨 장비의 Cascade
In 포트를 연결합니다.
4. Cat 5e 케이블을 사용하여 상위 디바이스의 unit to unit 포트와 수신
디바이스의 unit to unit포트를 연결하십시오.
5. 모니터의 비디오/오디오 케이블을 VS1505 / VS1508 장비의 비디오/오디오
출력 포트에 각각 연결합니다.
