Hearing Safety
Danger
To avoid hearing damage limit the time you use the •
headphones at high volume and set the volume to a
safe level. The louder the volume the shorter is the
safe listening time .
Be sure to observe the following guidelines
when using your headphones.
Listen at reasonable volumes for •
reasonable periods of time.
Be careful not to adjust the volume as •
your hearing adapts.
Do not turn up the volume so high that •
you can’t hear what’s around you.
You should use caution or temporarily •
discontinue use in potentially hazardous
situations.
Excessive sound pressure from earphones •
and headphones can cause hearing loss.
Electric-, Magnetic and
Electromagnetic Fields (EMF)

General information
To prevent fi re or shock hazard: • Always
keep this product dry. Do not expose it
to excessive heat by heating equipment or
direct sunlight.
Do not allow your headset to be •
submerged in water.
To clean the product• : Use a slightly
dampened chamois cloth. Do not use
cleansing agents containing alcohol, spirits,
ammonia or abrasives as they may harm
the product.
Do not disassemble the product.•
Transmission range: 30 meters, depending •
on ambient conditions.
Do not operate or store the product in •
a place where temperature is below 0˚C
(32˚F) or above 40˚C (104˚F) as this may
shorten the battery life.
Only use Philips’ rechargeable shortened •
sleeve NiMH batteries with your
headphones.
Apparatus shall not be exposed to •
dripping or splashing.
The mains plug of AC/DC adaptor is used •
as the disconnect device, the disconnect
device shall be readily operable.
Batteries (battery pack or batteries •
installed) shall not be exposed to excessive
heat such as sunshine, fi re or the like.
Disposal of your old product
Your product is designed and manufactured
with high quality materials and components,
which can be recycled and reused.
When this crossed-out wheeled bin
symbol is attached to a product it
means that the product is covered by
the European Directive 2002/96/EC.
Please inform yourself about the local
separate collection system for electrical and
electronic products.
Please act according to your local rules and
do not dispose of your old products with your
normal household waste. Correct disposal of

7 Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
Problem Possible cause Solution
1. Headphones fail to
charge
1.1 No battery installed Install or replace batteries (Fig. 2).
1.2 Wrong battery
orientation
Reposition the batteries with correct polarity (+/-)
as indicated.
1.3 No power supply to
transmitter
Ensure that the docking station is connected to the
local mains power (Fig. 3).
1.4 Alkaline battery or
non-short sleeve
battery is used
Only use Philips rechargeable shortened sleeve
NiMH batteries for charging.
1.5 Charging pin of the
docking station not
in contact with the
metal plate of the
headphones
Dock the headphones in place and ensure that the
CHARGING indicator is on (Fig. 4).

Reposition the headphones with correct

2.2 Not set up properly Ensure that the audio cable is connected to AUDIO
OUT on the audio device (Fig. 5).
2.3 Battery low Recharge the headphones (Fig. 4).

connected
Connect the audio device (Fig. 5).
2.5 Audio device is off Turn on the audio device.
2.6 Audio output volume
too low
Adjust the volume to a higher and non-distorted
level. If MP3 player or 3.5mm triport socket output
is used, switch ATT to 0dB.
2.7 Audio output volume
too high
Adjust the volume to a lower and non-distorted
level. If HiFi, DVD or RCA output is used, switch
ATT to -8dB.
2.8 Volume too low Adjust the volume of the audio device or headphones.
Note: The volume is not adjustable for some audio
devices.
2.9 Receiver too far away
from transmitter
Ensure that you use the product within effective
range.

3 Get Started
Note
Before using the headphones for the fi rst time, ensure •
that the batteries are fully charged for at least 4 hours.
Only use Philips rechargeable shortened sleeve NiMH
•
batteries with your headphones for charging.
Other types of rechargeable or alkaline batteries •
cannot be charged with this system.
AAA alkaline batteries can be used to operate the
•
headphones.
If the volume of the audio source is insuffi cient, the •
transmitter automatically turns off.
The energizing docking station does not transmit audio •
signal during charge.
1 Install/Replace batteries (Fig. 2).
2 Power on the transmitter (Fig. 3).
Charge the headphones (Fig. 4).
•
3 Connect audio and adjust ATT
(Attenuation of audio input signal) (Fig. 5).
To achieve a better volume level:
For portable CD player, MP3 player
•
or other devices with 3.5mm triport
socket output, switch ATT to 0dB.
For HiFi, TV, DVD player or other
•
devices with RCA socket output,
switch ATT to -8dB.
For an audio device with a 6.3mm
•
headphone output, use the supplied
3.5mm - 6.3mm stereo adaptor plug.
4 Power on/off the headphones (Fig. 6).
To mute the audio device, press and
•
hold the MUTE button (Fig. 7).
Once the MUTE button is released,
•
audio signal is resumed.
