Safety information
Your All-in-One ASUS All-in-One PC is designed and tested to meet
the latest standards of safety for information technology equipment.
However, to ensure your safety, it is important that you read the
following safety instructions.
Setting up your system
• Readandfollowallinstructionsinthedocumentationbeforeyou
operate your system.
• Donotusethisproductnearwateroraheatedsourcesuchasa
radiator.
• Setupthesystemonastablesurface.
• Openingsonthechassisareforventilation.Donotblockorcover
these openings. Ensure that you leave plenty of space around the
system for ventilation. Never insert objects of any kind into the
ventilation openings.
• Usethisproductinenvironmentswithambienttemperatures
between 0˚C and 40˚C.
• Ifyouuseanextensioncord,ensurethatthetotalampererating
of the devices plugged into the extension cord does not exceed
its ampere rating.
Care during use
• Donotwalkonthepowercordorallowanythingtorestonit.
• Donotspillwateroranyotherliquidsonyoursystem.
• Whenthesystemisturnedo,asmallamountofelectrical
current still remains in the product. Always unplug all power,
modem, and network cables from the power outlets before
cleaning the system.

• The touch screen requires periodic cleaning to perform at optimal
touch sensitivity. Keep the screen clean from foreign objects or
excessive dust accumulation. To clean the screen:
- Turnothesystemanddisconnectthepowercordfromthe
wall.
- Spray a small amount of household glass cleaner on the
supplied cleaning cloth and gently wipe the surface of the
screen.
- Do not spray the cleaner directly on the screen.
• Donotuseanabrasivecleaneroracoarseclothwhencleaning
the screen.
• Ifyouencounterthefollowingtechnicalproblemswiththe
product, unplug the power cord and contact a qualied service
technician or your retailer.
- The power cord or plug is damaged.
- Liquid has been spilled into the system.
- The system does not function properly even if you follow the
operating instructions.
- The system was dropped or the cabinet is damaged.
- The system performance changes.

Sound Pressure Warning
Excessive sound pressure from earphones or headphones can cause
hearing loss or permanent damage to hearing. Increasing the volume
and equalizer beyond default levels increases the output voltage and
sound pressure produced by the earphones or headphones.
DC Fan Warning
Please note that the DC fan is a moving part and can cause harm when
used improperly. Keep away from the fan when using the product.

Webcam microphone
The built-in digital microphone can be used for video
conferencing, voice narrations, audio recordings, and
multimedia applications.
Webcam
The built-in camera allows you to take pictures or record videos
using your ASUS All-in-One PC. On selected models, The built-
in webcam comes with a built-in digital microphone that
allows you can use to make video chat online.
Webcam LED
Indicates that the built-in webcam is enabled.
LCD Display (Touch-enabled function on selected models)
The 20-inch LCD display panel provides excellent viewing
features for photos, videos, and other multimedia les.
On selected models, two-point touch is supported. You can
operate your ASUS All-in-One PC using touch gestures.
Hard Disk Drive (HDD) indicator
This LED power indicator Indicates hard disk drive
activity.
Volume down button
Press this button to decrease the volume.
Volume up button
Press this button to increase the volume.
Brightness down button
Press this button to decrease the brightness of your
ASUS All-in-One PC.

Brightness up button
Press this button to increase the brightness of your
ASUS All-in-One PC.
Power button
Press the power button to turn your ASUS All-in-One PC
onoro.Youcanalsousethepowerbuttontoputyour
ASUS All-in-One PC to sleep or hibernate mode and
wake it up from sleep or hibernate mode.
In the event that your ASUS All-in-One PC becomes
unresponsive, press and hold the power button for
about four (4) seconds until your ASUS All-in-One PC
shuts down.

Refer to the following diagrams to identify the components on both
sides of the system.
6-in-1 card reader
This ASUS All-in-One PC has a built-in memory card
reader slot that supports MMC, SD, SDHC, SDXC, MS,
and MS PRO cards.
USB 2.0 port
This USB (Universal Serial Bus) port is compatible with
USB 2.0 or USB 1.1 devices such as keyboards, pointing
devices, ash disk drives, external HDDs, speakers,
cameras and printers.
USB 3.0 ports
These Universal Serial Bus 3.0 (USB 3.0) ports connect
to USB 3.0 devices such as a mouse, printer, scanner,
camera, and others.

HDMI-out port
This port is for a High-Denition Multimedia Interface
(HDMI) connector and is HDCP compliant for HD DVD,
Blu-ray, and other protected content playback.
Microphone input jack port
This port allows you to connect your ASUS All-in-One PC
to an external microphone.
Headphone / Audio Out jack
This combo jack supports speakers and headphones.
Optical Disc Drive manual eject hole
The manual eject hole is used to eject the drive tray in
case the electronic eject button does not work.
WARNING! Use the manual eject hole only when the
electronic eject button does not work.
Optical Disc Drive electronic eject button
Press this button to eject the optical drive tray.
You can also eject the drive tray using your media player
or by right-clicking the optical drive icon in Windows File
Explorer and clicking Eject.
Optical Disc Drive LED indicator
Indicates Optical Disk Drive activity.

Rear view
Refer to the following diagram to identify the components on this side
of the system.
Kensington® lock port
The Kensington® lock port allows you to secure your ASUS
All-in-One PC using Kensington® compatible security
products.
Air vents
The air vents allow cool air to enter and warm air to exit the
ASUS All-in-One PC.
WARNING! Ensure that paper, books, clothing, cables, or other
objects do not block any of the air vents or else overheating
may occur.

Stand
Allows you to position the system upright.
Power input
The bundled power adapter converts AC power to DC
power for use with this jack. Power supplied through this
jack supplies power to the PC. To prevent damage to the
PC, always use the bundled power adapter.
WARNING! The power adapter may become warm or
hot when in use. Do not cover the adapter and keep it
away from your body.
USB 2.0 port
This USB (Universal Serial Bus) port is compatible with
USB 2.0 or USB 1.1 devices such as keyboards, pointing
devices, ash disk drives, external HDDs, speakers,
cameras and printers.
Display (Monitor) Output
The 15-pin D-sub monitor port supports a standard
VGA-compatible device such as a monitor or projector to
allow viewing on a larger external display.
LAN port
This 8-pin RJ-45 LAN port supports a standard Ethernet
cable for connection to a local network.

Serial port
This 9-pin serial port (COM1) is for serial devices.
DIMM door
The DIMM door secures the RAM modules of your All-in-
One PC.
IMPORTANT!
• Your All-in-One PC comes with a pre-installed
RAM module. We recommend that you purchase
the same model and speed of RAM module
when you perform an upgrade or replacement.
Visit an authorized service center or retailer for
information on RAM module upgrades for your
ASUS All-in-One PC.
• For more information on how to add RAM
modules to your PC, refer to the Installing a
Random-access Memory module section in this
user guide.

Chapter 2: Using your ASUS All-
in-One PC
Placing on the desktop
Place your ASUS All-in-One PC on a at surface such as a table or desk,
and pull the stand open until it snaps in place. Then, tilt the display
panel to an angle of between 15 and 30 degrees from an upright
position.

Installing the wall mount screw
(optional)
To mount your ASUS All-in-One PC to the wall, purchase the optional
wall mount screws and wall mount kit (pad and rack; VESA100, 100mm
x 100 mm). Install the wall mount screws according to the following
instructions.
1. Place your ASUS All-in-One PC face-down on a at surface, such
as a table or desk, and then remove the two screws beside the
stand. Keep the screws for future use in case you want to reinstall
the stand.
2. Press the stand downward (A), shove it forward (B) then lift (C) to
release the stand. Take out the stand and put it aside.

4. Secure the four wall mount screws to the rear panel holes.
3. Remove the four plastic caps, from the rear panel holes,.

5. Mount the ASUS All-in-One PC onto a rm wall by applying a
standard wall mount kit (pad and rack) to the wall mount screws.
Follow the instructions described in the installation manual that
came with your wall mount kit.
NOTES:
• Thewallmountscrewsareoptionalaccessories.
• Thewallmount kit shouldcomplywithVESA100standards,which
can be purchased separately.
• Toensuresafety,pleasereadthewallmountkitinstallationmanual
carefully before mounting your ASUS All-in-One PC to the wall.

Connecting the wired keyboard
and mouse
Connect the keyboard and mouse to the USB ports on the rear panel.
You may also connect the keyboard and mouse to the USB port on the
side panel if the keyboard and mouse cable is not long enough.

Connecting the wireless keyboard and mouse
(optional)
1. Install batteries into the wireless keyboard and mouse.
3. You can begin using the wireless keyboard and mouse.
2. Connect the wireless dongle for keyboard and mouse to the USB
port.

Powering on the system
Connect the supplied AC adapter to the DC IN jack on the rear panel (1,
2, and 3) and then press the Power button on the front panel (4) to turn
on the system.
WARNING! DO NOT connect the AC power cord to an AC outlet prior to
connecting the DC plug to the system. Doing so may damage the AC-DC
adapter.

Using the touch screen
The 20-inch LCD screen panel of your All-in-One PC provides excellent
viewing features for photos, videos, and other multimedia les on your
PC.
On selected models, two-point touch is supported. With the two-point
touch features, you can operate your All-in-One PC using gestures.
NOTE: The illustration above is for reference only. The appearance of your
AiO PC may vary depending on the model.

NOTE: The following screenshots are for reference only. The touch screen

The gestures allow you to launch programs and access the settings of
your ASUS All-in-One PC. The functions can be activated by using the
hand gestures to your ASUS All-in-One PC’s touch screen panel.

Chapter 3: Working with
Windows® 8.1
NOTE: The operating system varies with country or region.
Starting for the rst time
When you start your computer for the first time, a series of screens
appear to guide you in conguring your Windows® 8.1 operating system.
To start your ASUS All-in-One PC for the rst time:
1. Press the power button on your ASUS All-in-One PC. Wait for a few
minutes until the setup screen appears.
2. From the setup screen, pick your region and a language to use on
your ASUS All-in-One PC.
3. Carefully read the License Terms. Select I accept.
4. Follow the onscreen instructions to congure the following basic
items:
• Personalize
• Getonline
• Settings
• Youraccount
5. After conguring the basic items, Windows® 8.1 proceeds to install
your apps and preferred settings. Ensure that your ASUS All-in-
One PC is kept powered on during the setup process.
6. Once the setup process is complete, the Start screen appears.

Windows® UI
Windows® 8.1 comes with a tile-based user interface (UI) which allows
you to organize and easily access Windows® apps from the Start screen.
It also includes the following features that you can use while working
on your ASUS All-in-One PC.
Start screen
The Start screen appears after successfully signing in to your user
account. It helps organize all the applications you need in just one
place.
Windows® Apps
These are apps pinned on the Start screen and displayed on tiled-format
for easy access.
NOTE: Some apps require signing in to your Microsoft account before
they are fully launched.

Hotspots
Onscreen hotspots allow you to launch programs and access the
settings of your ASUS All-in-One PC. The functions in these hotspots can
be activated using your mouse.

upper left corner Hover your mouse pointer on the upper
left corner then tap/click on the recent
app’s thumbnail to revert back to that
running app.
If you launched more than one app, slide
down to show all running apps.
lower left corner From a running app screen:
Hover your mouse pointer on the lower
left corner then tap/click to go back
to the Start screen.
NOTE: You can also press the Windows
key on your keyboard to go
back to the Start screen.
From the Start screen:

Hotspot Action
top side Hover your mouse pointer on the top side
until it changes to a hand icon. Drag then
drop the app to a new location.
NOTE: This hotspot function only works
on a running app or when you want to
use the Snap feature. For more details,
refer to the Snap feature section under
Working with Windows® apps.

Hover your mouse pointer on the upper or
lower right corner to launch the Charms
bar.

Start button
Windows® 8.1 features the Start button which allows you to switch

Windows® 8.1 also enables you to customize your Start screen, allowing
you to boot directly to the Desktop mode and customize the arrangement
of your apps onscreen.
To customize the settings of your Start screen:

2. Right-click anywhere on the taskbar, except on the Start button,
to launch the pop-up window.
3. Click Properties then select the Navigation tab to tick the

Adapter settings.
4. Right-click on your LAN and select Properties.

10. Enter your Username, Password, and Connection name. Click

3. Enter the IP address, Subnet mask and Gateway from your service
provider.
4. If needed, enter the preferred DNS Server address and alternative

Setting up a Bluetooth Wireless
Connection
Bluetooth technology eliminates the need for cables for connecting
to Bluetooth-enabled devices. Examples of Bluetooth-enabled devices
include ASUS All-in-One PCs, Desktop PCs, and mobile phones.
NOTE: If your ASUS All-in-One PC do not come with a built-in Bluetooth,
you need to connect a USB Bluetooth module in order to use Bluetooth.
To add a Bluetooth device in Windows® 8.1:
1. Double-click the Wireless Console icon in the Windows
notication area and select the Bluetooth icon. You can also
press <FN>+<F2> until the wireless LAN and Bluetooth are
enabled.
2. Click the Bluetooth logo on the System Tray and select Add a
Device from the context menu .
3. In the PC settings window, click Add a device to look for an
available Bluetooth devices.
4. Select a Bluetooth device from the list.
5. From the Bluetooth passcode, select Yes to conrm and pair the
ASUS All-in-One PC with the Bluetooth device.

Chapter 4: Recovering your

Entering the BIOS Setup
BIOS (Basic Input and Output System) stores system hardware settings
that are needed for system startup in the ASUS All-in-One PC.
In normal circumstances, the default BIOS settings apply to most
conditions to ensure optimal performance. Do not change the default
BIOS settings except in the following circumstances:
• Anerrormessageappearsonthescreenduringthesystem
bootup and requests you to run the BIOS Setup.
• Youhaveinstalledanewsystemcomponentthatrequiresfurther
BIOS settings or update.
WARNING! Inappropriate BIOS settings may result to instability or boot
failure. We strongly recommend that you change the BIOS settings only
with the help of a trained service personnel.
Quickly enter the BIOS
To access the BIOS:
• WhenyourASUSAll-in-OnePCiso,pressthepowerbuttonfor
at least four (4) seconds to access the BIOS directly.
• PressthepowerbuttontoturnonyourASUSAll-in-OnePCthen
press <F2> or <Del> during POST.
NOTE: POST (Power-On Self-Test) is a series of software controlled
diagnostic tests that run when you turn on your ASUS All-in-One PC.

Resetting your PC
The Reset your PC option restores your PC to its factory default settings.
IMPORTANT! Back up all your data before using this option.
To reset your PC:
1. Press <F9> during bootup.
IMPORTANT! To go through POST, follow any of the ways described in the
Quickly enter the BIOS section in Chapter 3.
2. From the screen, click Troubleshoot.
3. Select Reset your PC.
4. Click Next.
5. Select Only the drive where the Windows is installed.
6. Select Just remove my les.

You can create a USB recovery drive and use this to recover your PC’s
settings.
Creating a USB recovery drive
WARNING! All les on your USB storage device will be permanently
deleted during the process. Before you proceed, ensure that you back up
all your important data.
To create a USB recovery drive:
1. Launch the Control Panel from the All Apps screen.
NOTE: For details, refer to Launching the All Apps screen under
Working with Windows® apps.
2. From the Control Panel’s System and Security, click Find and x
problems.
3. Click Recovery > Create a recovery drive.
4. Click Next.
5. Select the USB storage device where you want to copy the recovery
les.
6. Click Next.
7. Click Create. Wait for a while for the process to complete.
8. When the process is completed, click Finish.

Removing everything and reinstalling Windows
Restoring your PC to its original factory settings can be done using the
Remove everything and reinstall option in PC Settings. Refer to the steps
below to use this option.
IMPORTANT!
Back up all your data before using this option.

2. Click Settings > Change PC Settings > General.
3. Scroll down to view the Remove everything and reinstall Windows

Installing a Random-access
Memory module
Upgrade the memory capacity of your ASUS All-in-One PC by installing
a RAM (random-access memory module) in the memory module
compartment or DIMM door.
WARNING! Disconnect all the connected peripherals, any telephone or
telecommunication lines and power connector (such as external power
supply, battery pack, etc.) before removing the compartment cover.
IMPORTANT!
• Visit an authorized service center or retailer for information on
RAM module upgrades for your ASUS All-in-One PC.
• Purchase RAM modules from authorized retailers of this ASUS All-
in-One PC to ensure maximum compatibility and reliability.

2. Pull out the compartment cover and remove it completely from
