Safety information
Your All-in-One PC ET2221I / A6410 Series is designed and tested to meet the latest standards
of safety for information technology equipment. However, to ensure your safety, it is important
that you read the following safety instructions.
Setting up your system
• Read and follow all instructions in the documentation before you operate your system.
• Do not use this product near water or a heated source such as a radiator.
• Set up the system on a stable surface.
• Openings on the chassis are for ventilation. Do not block or cover these openings. Ensure
that you leave plenty of space around the system for ventilation. Never insert objects of any
kind into the ventilation openings.
• Use this product in environments with ambient temperatures between 0˚C and 40˚C.
• If you use an extension cord, ensure that the total ampere rating of the devices plugged
into the extension cord does not exceed its ampere rating.
Care during use
• Do not walk on the power cord or allow anything to rest on it.
• Do not spill water or any other liquids on your system.
• When the system is turned o, a small amount of electrical current still ows. Always
unplug all power, modem, and network cables from the power outlets before cleaning the
system.
• The touch screen requires periodic cleaning to achieve the best touch sensitivity. Keep the
screen clean from foreign objects or excessive dust accumulation. To clean the screen:
• Turn o the system and disconnect the power cord from the wall.
• Spray a small amount of a household glass cleaner onto the supplied cleaning cloth
and gently wipe the screen surface.
• Do not spray the cleaner directly on the screen.
• Do not use an abrasive cleaner or a coarse cloth when cleaning the screen.
• If you encounter the following technical problems with the product, unplug the power cord
and contact a qualied service technician or your retailer.
• The power cord or plug is damaged.
• Liquid has been spilled into the system.
• The system does not function properly even if you follow the operating instructions.
• The system was dropped or the cabinet is damaged.
• The system performance changes.

Sound Pressure Warning
Excessive sound pressure from earphones or headphones can cause hearing damage or loss.
Adjustment of the volume control as well as the equalizer to settings other than the center
position may increase the earphones or headphones output voltage and the sound pressure
level.
TV Tuner (on selected models)
Note to CATV System Installer—This reminder is provided to call the CATV systems installer’s
attention to Section 820-93 of the National Electric Code, which provides guidelines for
proper grounding and, in particular, specify that the Coaxial cable shield be connected to the
grounding system of the building as close to the point of cable entry as practical.

Getting to know your All-in-One PC
Front view
Webcam LED
Indicates that the built-in webcam is enabled.
Webcam
The built-in webcam with the built-in digital microphone allows you to start video
chats online.

Digital Microphone (Built-in)
The built-in digital microphone can be used for video conferencing, voice narrations,
audio recordings, and multimedia applications.
LCD display (Touch-enabled function on selected models)
The LCD display features optimal resolution. Touch-enabled models bring digital life to
your ngertips.
Power LED
Indicates that your All-in-One PC is turned on.
Hard Disk Drive LED
Indicates hard disk drive activity.
Audio Speaker
The built-in stereo speaker system allows you to hear audio without additional
attachments. The multimedia sound system features an integrated digital audio
controller that produces rich, vibrant sound.
MENU button
Press to display the menu. Press this button to enter/select the highlighted icon
(function) when the OSD is activated.
Menu up button
Press to go up the menu.
Menu down button
Press to go down the menu.
Remote Control Receiver
The remote control receiver receives the infrared signal from the remote control.

Secure the four wall mount screws into these holes and mount your All-in-One PC to a

Antenna Input (on selected models)
The antenna input is for TV frequency signal and allows for use with the digital TV
antenna or input from subscription television services. The antenna can receive digital
TV. Cable service connection can receive digital TV, analog TV, depending on paid
services.
Power input
The supplied power adapter converts AC power to DC power for use with this jack.
Power supplied through this jack supplies power to the PC. To prevent damage to the
PC, always use the supplied power adapter.
WARNING! The power adapter may get warm or hot when in use. Do not cover the
adapter and keep it away from your body.
HDMI Input Port
HDMI (High-Denition Multimedia Interface) is an uncompressed all-digital audio/
video interface between any audio/video source, such as set-top box or DVD player.
HDMI Output Port
Connect this port with devices equipped with HDMI input port, such as LCD monitor
or projector.
LAN port
The eight-pin RJ-45 LAN port supports a standard Ethernet cable for connection to a
local network.

USB 2.0 port (with AI Charger II)
This USB (Universal Serial Bus) port is compatible with USB 2.0 or USB 1.1 devices such
as keyboards, pointing devices, ash disk drives, external HDDs, speakers, cameras and
printers.
For the All-in-One ET2221I / A6410 Series, this port comes with the AI Charger II
function that allows you to quick-charge compatible devices. To enable the AI Charger
II on your All-in-One PC ET2221I / A6410 Series, go to Desktop > AI Suite II > AI
Charger II then select Enable.
USB 3.0 ports
These USB (Universal Serial Bus) ports provide a transfer rate of up to 5Gbit/s and are
backward compatible with USB2.0.
ET2221I-Q87 / A6410-Q87 I/O ports
Power input
The supplied power adapter converts AC power to DC power for use with this jack.
Power supplied through this jack supplies power to the PC. To prevent damage to the
PC, always use the supplied power adapter.

Headphone jack
The stereo headphone jack (3.5mm) is used to connect the system’s audio out signal
to headphones. Using this jack automatically disables the built-in speakers.
Microphone jack
The microphone jack is designed to connect to a microphone used for video
conferencing, voice narrations, or simple audio recordings.
Memory card reader
This All-in-One PC has a single built-in memory card reader slot that supports MMC,
SD, and SDHC formats.

Mode button
Press to switch the display signal source. When switched to HDMI-in and VGA-in, the
All-in-One PC can be used as a standard desktop LCD monitor.
Menu lock
Press to activate the MENU button on the front panel.
Optical Drive
The built-in optical drive may support compact discs (CD), digital video discs (DVD),
and/or Blu-ray discs (BD) and may have recordable (R) or re-writable (RW) capabilities.
See the marketing specications for details on each model.
Optical Drive Electronic Eject
The optical drive eject has an electronic eject button for opening the tray. You can also
eject the optical drive tray through any software player or by right clicking the optical
drive in Windows “Computer” and selecting Eject.
Power button
Press this button to turn on your All-in-One PC.

Mounting to the wall
To mount your ASUS All-in-One PC to the wall, purchase optional wall mount screws and a
wall mount kit (VESA 100). Install the wall mount components according to the following
instructions.
1. To release the stand, place the All-in-One
PC face-down rst, resting the display
panel on a at even surface.
2. Remove the back cover.
3. Remove the four screws on the stand and
save for future reinstallation (A). Take out
the stand and put it aside (B).
4. Replace the back cover that you removed
earlier.

by applying a standard wall mount kit
(pad and rack) to the wall mount screws.

installation manual that came with your
wall mount kit.

• Formachineventilation,besuretoleaveadistanceofatleast6cmbetweentheAll-in-
One PC and the wall.
• ThewallmountkitshouldcomplywithVESAstandards.
• Toensuresafety,pleasereadthewallmountkitinstallationmanualcarefullybefore
mounting your All-in-One PC to the wall.
• AtleasttwopersonsarerequiredtoinstallorremovetheAll-in-OnePContoand
from the wall to avoid hazard of falling objects and breakage. Qualied personnel is
recommended.
• ThewallshouldbeabletosustainfourtimestheweightoftheAll-in-OnePCandwall
mount components combined (36kg at least). The mounting location must be able to
withstand earthquake or other impacts. Cement or masonry walls recommended.

Setting up your All-in-One PC
Connecting the wired keyboard and mouse
Connect the keyboard and the mouse to the USB port on the rear panel. You may also connect
the keyboard and mouse to the USB port on the left side of the panel if the keyboard cable is
not long enough.
NOTES:
• Simplyreconnectifthewirelesskeyboardandmouseloseconnection.Avoidother
nearby WiFi devices at least 20 cm as they may interfere with the connection.
• The illustrations above are for reference only. Actual appearances and specications
(wired or wireless) of the keyboard and mouse may vary by territory.
Connecting the wireless keyboard and mouse
1. Install batteries to the wireless
keyboard and mouse.
2. Connect the wireless dongle for
keyboard and mouse to a USB
port.
3. You can begin using the wireless
keyboard and mouse.

Turning your All-in-One PC on
Connect the supplied AC adapter to the DC-In jack on the rear panel (
, wall outlet
voltage 100Vac-240Vac) and then press the Power switch on the right ( ) to turn on the
system.
WARNING! DO NOT connect the AC power cord to an AC outlet prior to connecting the DC plug
to the system. Doing so may damage the AC-DC adapter.

Gestures
The gestures allow you to launch programs and access the settings of your All-in-One PC. The
functions can be activated by using the hand gestures to your All-in-One PC’s display panel.
Using gestures
Top edge swipe Finger slide
• In the Start screen, swipe from the top
edge of the screen to view the All Apps
bar.
• In a running app, swipe the from top
edge of the screen to view its menu.
Slide your nger to scroll up and down and
slide your nger to pan the screen left or
right.
Left edge swipe Right edge swipe
Swipe from the left edge of the screen to
shue your running apps.
Swipe from the right edge of the screen to
launch the Charms bar.

Using the On Screen Display (OSD) Menu
The On Screen Display (OSD) menu appears if you do the following:
• Activate the OSD via pressing the Menu lock button at the left side of your All-in-One PC,
then press the Menu button at the front panel.
OSD function instruction
To display the OSD menu, press the MENU button on the front panel. To navigate through the
OSD functions or modify OSD settings, press the Menu up or Menu down keys. To activate the
selected function, press the MENU button.
Panel O
This function allows you to turn o the display panel of the All-in-One PC on. Press the MENU
button to activate this function.
Color
• Brightness: The adjusting range is from 0 to 100.
• Contrast: The adjusting range is from 0 to 100.
• Color Temp.: Contains four color modes including Cool, Normal, Warm, and User mode.
Image
• Sharpness: The adjusting range is from 0 to 100.
• Aspect Control: Adjusts the aspect ratio to “Full” or “OverScan”. This function is congurable
only when you use the All-in-One PC as a standard desktop LCD monitor.
• Auto Adjust: Adjusts the horizontal position (H-Position) and the vertical position
(V-Position) of the image. This function is congurable only when you use the All-in-One PC
as a standard desktop LCD monitor and set the Display-input port as the input source.
Input Select
• PC: Sets the All-in-One PC as the display signal source.

System Setup
• OSD Setup:
• Adjuststhehorizontalposition(H-Position)/verticalposition(V-Position)oftheOSD
menu.
• AdjuststheOSDtimeoutfrom10to120seconds.
• EnablesordisablestheDDC/CI(DisplayDataChannel/CommandInterface)function.
• Information: Shows the monitor information.
• Language: Allows you to set the OSD language.
• All Reset: Allows you to reset all OSD settings.
Input signal selection
An Input Select OSD menu appears when you connect the HDMI or VGA cable to the rear
HDMI-input or Display-input port. Use the Menu up or Menu down keys to navigate through
the input options and press the MENU button to activate the option. Refer to Input Select in
the previous section for details.
Conguring the audio output via an HDMI device (on selected models
only)
If you want to use a high-denition TV as an audio output device, connect it to the Home
Theater PC and follow the steps below to congure the audio settings.
To congure the audio output via an HDMI device:
1. From the Start screen, click Desktop to launch the Desktop Mode.
NOTE: For more details, refer to the section Start screen under Working with Windows® 8.1.

Starting for the rst time
When you start your computer for the rst time, a series of screens appear to guide you in
conguring your Windows® 8.1 operating system.
To start your ASUS All-in-One PC for the rst time:
1. Press the power button on your ASUS All-in-One PC. Wait for a few minutes until the setup
screen appears.
2. From the setup screen, pick your region and a language to use on your ASUS All-in-One
PC.
3. Carefully read the License Terms. Select I accept.
4. Follow the onscreen instructions to congure the following basic items:

5. After conguring the basic items, Windows® 8.1 proceeds to install your apps and

3. Select the wireless network that you want to connect to from the list.

Setting up a Bluetooth Wireless Connection
Bluetooth technology eliminates the need for cables for connecting to Bluetooth-enabled
devices. Examples of Bluetooth-enabled devices include ASUS All-in-One PCs, Desktop PCs,
and mobile phones.
NOTE: If your ASUS All-in-One PC do not come with a built-in Bluetooth, you need to connect a
USB Bluetooth module in order to use Bluetooth.
To add a Bluetooth device in Windows® 8.1:
1. Double-click the Wireless Console icon in the Windows notication area and select the
Bluetooth icon. You can also press <FN>+<F2> until the wireless LAN and Bluetooth are
enabled.
2. Click the Bluetooth logo on the System Tray and select Add a Device from the context
menu.
3. In the PC settings window, click Add a device to look for an available Bluetooth devices.
4. Select a Bluetooth device from the list.
5. From the Bluetooth passcode, select Yes to conrm and pair the ASUS All-in-One PC with
the Bluetooth device.

Chapter 4: Recovering your system
Entering the BIOS Setup
BIOS (Basic Input and Output System) stores system hardware settings that are needed for
system startup in the PC.
In normal circumstances, the default BIOS settings apply to most conditions to ensure optimal
performance. Do not change the default BIOS settings except in the following circumstances:
• An error message appears on the screen during the system bootup and requests you to run
the BIOS Setup.
• You have installed a new system component that requires further BIOS settings or update.
WARNING! Inappropriate BIOS settings may result to instability or boot failure. We strongly
recommend that you change the BIOS settings only with the help of a trained service personnel.

access the BIOS:
• When your All-in-One PC is o, press the power button for at least four (4) seconds to access
the BIOS directly.
• Press the power button for at least four (4) seconds to shut down your All-in-One PC, then
pressthepowerbuttonagaintoturnyourAll-in-OnePCbackon,andpress<F2>during
POST.
• When your All-in-One PC is o, disconnect the power cord from your All-in-One PC’s power
connector. Reconnect the power cord and press the power button to turn on your All-in-
OnePC.Press<F2>duringPOST.
NOTE: POST (Power-On Self Test) is a series of software controlled diagnostic tests that run when
you turn on your PC.

Resetting your All-in-One PC
The Reset your PC option restores your PC to its factory default settings.
IMPORTANT! Back up all your data before using this option.
To reset your All-in-One PC:
1. If your All-in-One PC is o, press the power button to turn on your All-in-One PC.
If your All-in-One PC is already on, launch the Windows® 8.1 Charms bar then go to
Settings>Change PC settings>General. From the General pane, scroll down to
Advanced startup and tap or tap or click Restart now.
2. Press <F9>duringbootup.
3. From the screen, tap or click Troubleshoot.
4. Select Reset your PC.
5. Tap or click Next.
6. Select Only the drive where the Windows is installed.
7. Select Just remove my les.

To create a USB recovery drive:
1. Launch the Control Panel from the All Apps screen.

2. From the Control Panel’s System and Security, click Find and x problems.
3. Tap or click Recovery> Create a recovery drive.
4. Tap or click Next.
NOTE: If the check box is not ticked, no device drivers

Restoring your PC to its original factory settings can be done using the Remove everything and

2. Click Settings>Change PC Settings>General.
