• Beforeyouliftorreposition yourmonitor,it isbetterto disconnectthecables
andpowercord.Followthecorrectliftingtechniqueswhen positioningthe
monitor.Whenliftingorcarryingthemonitor, graspthe edgesof themonitor.
Donotliftthedisplaybythestandorthecord.
• Cleaning.Turnyourmonitoroffandunplugthepowercord.Cleanthemonitor
surface with a lint-free, non-abrasive cloth. Stubborn stains may be removed
withaclothdampenedwithmildcleaner.
• Avoid using a cleaner containing alcohol or acetone. Use a cleaner intended
forusewiththemonitor.Neverspraycleanerdirectlyonthescreen,asitmay
dripinsidethemonitorandcauseanelectricshock.
The following symptoms are normal with the monitor:
• Thescreenmayickerduringtheinitialuseduetothenatureoftheuorescent
light. Turnoff the Power Switch and turn it on again to make sure that the
ickerdisappears.
• Youmayfind slightlyunevenbrightness onthescreendependingon the
desktoppatternyouuse.
• When the same image is displayed for hours, an afterimage of the previous
screenmayremainafterswitchingtheimage.Thescreenwillrecoverslowlyor
youcanturnoffthePowerSwitchforhours.
• Whenthescreenbecomesblackorashes,orcannotworkanymore,contact
yourdealerorservicecentertoxit.Donotrepairthescreenbyyourself!

1.1 Welcome!

1. Shortcut :
• Default: Blue light lter hotkey.
• To change the hotkey function, go to the Shortcut > Shortcut 1 menu.

3. Button:
• Exits the OSD menu or goes back to the previous menu when the OSD
menu is active.
4. Input Select Button:
• Selects an available input source.

Press Button (Input Select Button) to display VGA, HDMI/MHL
(HDMI/MHL-1), HDMI/MHL-2, DVI, DisplayPort signals* after you
connect VGA, HDMI, DVI or DisplayPort cable with the monitor.
*Depends on the actual design of the monitor.

Auto
Button:
• Automatically adjusts the image to its optimized position, clock, and phase
by pressing this Button for 2-4 seconds (for VGA mode only).
6. QuickFit Button:
• Activates the QuickFit function designed for alignment. The QuickFit
function contains 8 pages of common grid patterns, paper sizes, and
photo sizes.
7. Menu Button:
• Turns on the OSD menu.
• Toggles the Key Lock function between on and off with a long press for
5 seconds.
8. Power Button/Power Indicator
• Turns the monitor ON/OFF.
• The color denition of the power indicator is as the below table.

The QuickFit function contains three kinds of patterns: (1) Grid patterns (2) Paper
size (3) Photo size. To activate the patterns, press the QuickFit hotkey. Press
the buttons as indicated on the screen to select a desired pattern.

page and achieve a consistent look and feel.

2. Paper size
QuickFit provides several commonly used standard paper sizes for users to view
their documents in real size on the screen.

The various real photo sizes displayed in the QuickFit function provides
photographers and other users to accurately view and edit their photos in real size
on the screen.

When QuickFit is activated, press the control buttons to make adjustments. The
QuickFit OSD displayed in the lower right corner of the screen will guide users to
make selections.

2.1 Assembling the monitor arm/base
To assemble the monitor base:
1. Have the front of the monitor face down on a table.
2. Attach the base into the arm, making sure the tab on the arm ts into the
groove on the base.
3. Fix the base to the arm by fastening the bundled screw.
We recommend that you cover the table surface with soft cloth to prevent
damage to the monitor.
2.2 Adjusting the monitor
• For optimal viewing, we recommend that you look at the full face of the
monitor, then adjust the monitor to the angle that is most comfortable for you.
• Hold the stand to prevent the monitor from falling when you change its angle.
• The recommended adjusting angle is +20 to -5˚.

2.3 Connecting the cables

a. Connect the power adapter securely to the monitor’s DC input port.
b. Connect one end of the power cord to the power adapter and the other
end to a power outlet.

a. Plug one end of the VGA/DVI/HDMI/DisplayPort cable to the monitor’s
VGA/DVI/HDMI/DisplayPort port.
b. Connect the other end of the VGA/DVI/HDMI/DisplayPort cable to your
computer’s VGA/DVI/HDMI/DisplayPort port.
c. Tighten the two screws to secure the VGA/DVI connector.
:connect one end of the audio cable to the
monitor’s Audio-in port, the other end to the computer’s audio-out port.
connect the end with plug type to the monitor’s
earphone jack when an HDMI/DisplayPort signal is fed.
When these cables are connected, you can choose the desired signal
from the Input Select item in the OSD menu.

2.4 Turning on the monitor
Press the power button . See page 1-2 for the location of the power button. The
power indicator lights up in white to show that the monitor is ON.

: turns on/off the ASCR (ASUS Smart Contrast Ratio) function.
: adjusts the horizontal position
(H-Position) and the vertical position (V-Position) of the image. The
adjusting range is from 0 to 100.
: reduces Horizonal-line noise
and Vertical-line noise of the image by adjusting (Phase) and (Clock)
separately. The adjusting range is from 0 to 100.
• Phase adjusts the phase of the pixel clock signal. With a wrong phase
adjustment, the screen shows horizontal disturbances.
• Clock (pixel frequency) controls the number of pixels scanned by one
horizontal sweep. If the frequency is not correct, the screen shows
vertical stripes and the image is not proportional.

3.3 Troubleshooting (FAQ)
Power LED is not ON • Press the Button to check if the monitor
is in the ON mode.
• Check if the power cord is properly
connected to the monitor and the power
outlet.
The power LED lights amber and there is
no screen image
• Check if the monitor and the computer are
in the ON mode.
• Make sure the signal cable is properly
connected the monitor and the computer.
• Inspect the signal cable and make sure
none of the pins are bent.
• Connect the computer with another
available monitor to check if the computer
is properly working.
Screen image is too light or dark • Adjust the Contrast and Brightness
settings via OSD.
Screen image is not centered or sized
properly
• AUTO-adjust the image via OSD(for VGA
mode only).
• Adjust the H-Position or V-Position
settings via OSD.
Screen image bounces or a wave pattern is
present in the image
• Make sure the signal cable is properly
connected to the monitor and the
computer.
• Move electrical devices that may cause
electrical interference.
Screen image has color defects (white does
not look white)
• Inspect the signal cable and make sure
that none of the pins are bent.
• Perform All Reset via OSD.
• Adjust the R/G/B color settings or select
the Color Temperature via OSD.
Screen image is blurry or fuzzy • AUTO-adjust the image via OSD(for VGA
mode only).
• Adjust the Phase and Clock settings via
OSD.
No sound or sound is low • Ensure that the HDMI cable is properly
connected to the monitor and the
computer.
• Adjust the volume settings of both your
monitor and HDMI device.
• Ensure that the computer sound card
driver is properly installed and activated.
