• CONTENTS
- 1 suitcase with special lightbox
- 20 wipe-off cards with writing exercises
- 1 sponge
- 1 erasable felt-tip pen
• FOR THE ATTTENTION OF THE PARENT
These instructions are mainly intended for parents since the children
will need some supervision in the beginning, sorting out the cards and
understanding the exercises. It is therefore important that you first
explain what they need to do before starting with a card. Once the child
understands the exercise and has done some practice, the child can
play with the cards independently. Make sure that the child only practices
with those cards that are appropriate to his or her age and interests.
The numbering of the cards will help you to do so.
The style of writing used for the letters is based on a well-known style
of writing used by many schools.
NOTE: Only use the erasable pen provided with the game. Be careful
with clothing, furniture and other textiles. The ink of the pen may possibly
not be washed out.
• BEFORE YOU START
Unscrew the panel from the bottom of the device and insert three 1.5V
C (LR14 ) batteries as indicated.
• START PLAYING!
1. Open the suitcase.
2. Choose a card to start with and place it on the lightbox or surface of
the table, as preferred.
3. Look carefully at what you need to do. The first couple of times you
use a card, you can turn on the lightbox, so that you can easily see the
(writing) lines of the example.
4. Have you finished all the exercises on the card? Place the card carefully
on the lightbox and turn on the light! Check if you have done the exercise
properly. Using the special sponge you can rub everything out and start
again or choose a new card.
• MAINTENANCE
• The suitcase and cards can be wiped with a clean damp cloth.
• Do not expose the game to direct sunlight. Keep away from heat
sources.
• Keep the game away from humidity or water sources.
• BATTERIES
The lightbox works on 3x 1.5V C (LR14) batteries and automatically
switches off when the suitcase is closed. When the batteries are empty,
you unscrew the panel from the bottom of the device.
Please refer to the packaging of the batteries you have bought, for
instructions and safety warnings. If the batteries run down, unscrew
the panel of the back. Insert new batteries (3x 1.5V C (LR14)) and
replace the panel. Please ensure the + end is on the correct side of
the holder.
• Do not attempt to recharge non-rechargeable batteries.
• Remove rechargeable batteries from the game before being charged.
• Only recharge rechargeable batteries under adult supervision.
• Do not mix different battery types, or new and used batteries
together.
• Only use batteries of the type mentioned in the rules.
• Always remove batteries when they are exhausted.
• Do NOT short-circuit the supply terminals under any circumstances.
• Batteries not included.
• THE CARDS
The cards follow a logical sequence, becoming progressively more difficult.
The cards start with motor-skill exercises and finish with writing letters
and words. Because the cards are wipe-clean, children can use them again
and again, practicing the different movements at their own pace until
they have begun to master the skill of writing.
- Cards 1 to 6: Preparatory exercises for practicing writing skills. You
can practice different writing patterns on the cards.
- Card 7: Learn how to write the numbers 0 to 9. The cards provide you
with a short introduction of how to write the numbers. Then try to write
the numbers on your own. Start each number at the dot.
- Cards 8 to 20: With these cards you learn, in sequence of the alphabet,
the letters A to Z and how to write several first words. The cards provide
you with a short introduction of how to write all the letters. Then try to
write the letter on your own. First the small letter, followed by the capital
letter. After this, you can also practice writing a word on the bottom line
of the sheet. Next to every letter you can find a pre-printed word together
with an illustration. Start the first letter at the dot.
• THE LIGHTBOX
The specially developed lightbox can also be used in a different way. The
lightbox can be used for copying other illustrations or text. Place a favourite
illustration on the lightbox and place a sheet of white paper on top of it.
Turn on the light and you will see the illustration throught the white paper.
Now you can easily trace the illustration.
